There is all league (for Catholics) which is more or less the equivalent of all-county, but I don't think there is anything national.
Do the Catholics on LI have a shorter season and play weaker competition/league on LI? We were told and under the impression that Saint Anthony’s was one of the best programs in the country for girls lacrosse?
We are moving to LI and are considering putting our daughter in a catholic school on LI. Thoughts on which one has the best lacrosse program? Thank you.
Catholics play a similar number of games. Similar length season, but starts a little earlier then ends just as public playoffs are starting so it can feel shorter. They are trying to change this.
Catholics have fewer league games and more OOC games, so competition level largely depends on who the school schedules. St Anthonys and Sacred Heart play very demanding OOC schedules, top teams from LI as well as nationally ranked teams from out of state.
"Best" can be subjective based on your criteria, but there is no doubt what program wins the most games - St Anthonys.
