Its for parents to get their ego stroked and tell their friends my kid plays Varsity lacrosse and she is in 7/8th grade. Just like the glorified stickers and magnets on cars stating which club your kid plays for.

why so focused on the High School... its an entire school district that is competing... why wouldnt you want your best performing players, regardless of age, performing at the highest level (ie - Varsity)?... is this too tough to digest for you people who think everyone should get a trophy? as mentioned previously, younger girls are not allowed to play varsity unless they pass testing indicating they are physically ready

Some are scared the younger girls are better than their daughter. Rough lessons ahead with that mentality!

Not the reason at all. If that’s the case they can prove it in 9th grade, in high-school on the high-school team. You are prob. More scared of losing bragging rights. You can still brag she’s the best in 8th grade with her playing MS and proving it on her club team against the other “best”
