About Us

Welcome to Back of Cage! – Your Source for Local, Regional and National Lacrosse News, & Information for nearly a decade. was founded in 2010 with the mission to provide lacrosse families with news and information primarily on Long Island through a single forum that allowed registered and anonymous users to have open discussions to share their experience, opinions and thoughts about the local lacrosse community to help others make educated decisions about the ‘club’ market and everything revolving around the clubs.

Upon creation of Back of the Cage, it has been converted to a multiple-forum covering youth through high school lacrosse not only in the Tri State New York Metropolitan Area (Long Island, CT and Westchester) but has expanded into the Mid-Atlantic Region, specifically in Maryland, Virginia, Delaware, New Jersey, Philadelphia and Vicinity. The forum remains the premiere place for online discussions in the hotbeds of lacrosse covering youth though high school lacrosse.
Since then, Back of the Cage has been bringing local news about lacrosse camps, lacrosse clinics, lacrosse clubs, lacrosse leagues, lacrosse tournaments and lacrosse showcases in addition to college stories, rules about the game, recruiting platforms, lacrosse equipment and several other topic of lacrosse to these local and regionalized markets to provide information to the lacrosse families and players while serving as platform for organizations to spread their word about the game of lacrosse and simultaneously seeing what other lacrosse programs are offering.

Back of the Cage (BOTC) was acquired by new ownership in July of 2017 by experienced lacrosse players who played at the highest levels and having been involved in the youth through high school scene for well over a decade. They will remain as the chief administration and will be implementing more resources that will feature more news coverage, scoreboards, forum pulls, a recruiting database, a job directory, blogs and computer power rankings for club teams among many other features to make Back of the Cage a one stop shop for your local lacrosse news and information for both boys and girls lacrosse.

MORE ABOUT BACK OF THE CAGE In an effort to offer objective rankings and unbiased evaluations of teams weekly during the two different club lacrosse seasons, Back of the Cage will be collaborating with a team of lacrosse enthusiasts who have decades of experience to bring the most extensive rankings to date mixed with analysis from our team of experts to bring the most credible and in-depth analysis in club lacrosse from the very best lacrosse recruiting tournaments/showcases that we identify from our past experience and talking with coaches – Back of the Cage is the only media outlet to provide such data and we are excited to launch this by November!
