Just curious why do the YJ send their 2021, 2020 teams to showcase tournaments? What are they show casing at this age?
Its not what you think, showcase implies the tournament type. It means the teams play each other, hopefully equally matched, but there are no pools and brackets or playoffs or even a champion crowned.
The first post was spot on, there's no reason for kids younger than 9th grade to play in showcase type events - NOBODY is watching, it's more PC nonsense - there are no losers, everyone's a winner and it was a great weekend of lax, blah, blah, blah... On the flip side in the championship format everyone knows who the final four in most age groups will be before the tournament starts - look at all the lopsided scores in the espn u-15 tourney this past summer as a prime example
