Just to be clear, people who wear cleats, skates or sneakers aren’t heroes. Except for the guy who wore #40 for the Arizona Cardinals. Heroes wear scrubs, combat boots, bunker gear and shields on their chest.

Being former military and very proud of it, I would add that a hero is generally someone who braves the odds and leads the charge to allow others to follow in their footsteps. A few, but certainly not most, athletes fit this description.
