Rules have changed no doubt. Now it remains to be seen how many coaches will honor the rule or recruit through a third party, i.e. Club coach/director, school coach.
This is why the rule, while needed didn't go far enough.
My bet is the honor system will go,out the window with the next round of recruited 20's and 21's. Once one coach does it, they may all be compelled to do it.
More importantly, USL and tournaments should clean up 16 year olds playing in 2021 divisions.
Personally, I would be very careful (on the athlete end) of being "recruited" illegally, because if it gets out that coaches are trying to get around the rules, not only is the coach/program going to be held accountable, so will the student athlete. Face it, the rule has totally changed the game and for the better for sure.
