More than half from Long Island. Maryland population is two thirds more than Nassau and Suffolk combined yet Long Island produces more college players than Maryland. Most Long Island kids playing college are the proper age and the Maryland kids playing in college have many holdbacks. Long Island is showing a trend going up and Maryland is going down numbers wise. Those are facts. Maryland should stiop stop looking up to try and compete with Long Island and pay more attention to Pennsylvania who is also better than them. Having seen all the top Maryland teams and Pennsylvania teams don't be surprised if the Pennsylvania kids get more college spots compared to Maryland in the near future.

Can't do it Ny only has 3 teams that can compete with the tops clubs from Maryland

Ok NY may have way too many clubs. The teams are watered down.
However, what's patently clear is NY's overwhelming dominance in terms of putting kids into NCAA lacrosse. Not even close...
2014-15
Total number of NCAA recruits: NY 649 MD 284
D1 Recruits: NY 244 MD 146
2015-16
Total number of NCAA recruits: NY 643 MD 305
D1 Recruits: NY 214 MD 118
2016-17
Total number of NCAA recruits: NY 651 MD 242
D1 Recruits: NY 242 MD 93

As you can see, the number of kids going on to play NCAA lacrosse from MD is shrinking, and the number of D1 recruits from MD is off the cliff. I think NY is doing just fine.

I would hope so given my 5x the size of maryland

How many of those NY kids are from LI, not just "NY"?
