It's funny that this argument is at the extremes. Do you not think that Mark Millon has his finger on the pulse of where his kids would land in the rankings? An on age #9, without being the offensive star on Dad's club for 9 years, would still have been a top 100 recruit nationally. His parents are both D1 athletes and they live a lifestyle around fitness, competitiveness, etc. And they have money. He's got decent size and speed, high lax IQ, yes a little bit selfish, and St. Paul's would have gotten him to college ball....just not as the #1 recruit, on age.
