There are plenty of deals made, both before and after tryouts, at all age levels. You're kidding yourself if you don't believe it. Call them back room if you want, but it doesn't matter what you call them. It happens across all the clubs. Not one of them is excluded from playing games with their "tryout/selection" process at one time or another.
