BBL did this last year at Summer Sizzle in Md...they were getting killed by other teams and decided not to show up vs FCA. Weak program, they shouldn't get asked back to quality tournaments.
Although not many lacrosse tournaments have crossed into performance bonds (some top level soccer tournaments have done this), elite teams are soon going to be required to "bond" their tournament appearances to avoid this situation.

Performance bonds guard against teams walking away from matches such as we see here. Once a team participates in all of their scheduled matches, their bond (typically $1000.00) is refunded. If a team forfeits a match, the bond is used to REFUND that portion of the application fees to the impacted opponent(s).

Thanks Cage.

Lacrosse is way behind in many ways. The people who control the sport are working for selfish reason. Tournament Organizers/Owners, Club Directors/Owners, HS Coaches (who also want to profit) and Youth Lacrosse (town boards) all have their own agendas.

US Lacrosse has not set the stage effectively. The current system is a free for all.

Single year "U" based age groups is a must.
Player and Team Registration is a must.
Tier Rating of Teams based on results is a must. "A" "B" "C" Divisions.

I am not talking about Rec-league or local town based programs. I am talking about Competitive Travel Teams.
