My son plays on a B team and wins a lot of Championships. Why doesn't the coach move and play in an A division for just one tourney? Is it his ego? Does he need another T-Shirt. The A team in our club plays in all the A tournaments. They don't ever win the championships but they compete against better competition. As a former player I know that is the only way to improve. I don't have any visions of grandeur my son belongs on the B-Team but I hear him an his teammates talk about how they are better than the A-Team because the A Team never wins the championship. Then I have to knock him down a peg but am I wrong for doing that?
No not wrong. It’s a mix. Play better teams to see how you can get better (it’s eye opening), and at your own level so kids win and have fun. No one needs to get drilled by 12 goals every game.
