You are lying. EVERY SINGLE DECENT MD TEAM HAS SEVERAL HOLDBACKS. it is the culture there. it’s is common knowledge. It’s also common knowledge that your biggie midi is the marque holdback at this age bracket.

IF ANYONE ON LI IS NOT UP TO DATE ON THIS ISSUE, READ THE 2024 MD THREAD. ALL OF THE MD PARENTS TALKING ABOUT IT. GREAT STUFF! THE WHOLE STATE ARE A BUNCH OF CHEATERS WITH MADLAX LEADING THE PACK.

Madlax is a VA team. And no comebacks. If you think we do, prove it. LOL at LI idiocy.

Northern VA (or "Capital" as you like to say) is MD, in youth lacrosse, as you know.

But I do LOVE your comment... "and no COMEBACKS". That has to be the only accurate statement you have made on this website. Congrats!

Question: Rumor has it that your biggie midi holdback is going to play on-age this spring. Any truth to that?

If so, do you know what the parents motivation is?

Maybe they feel like he isn't developing, playing down, against players half his size? That does make a lot of sense.

Or maybe they feel guilty that he dominates that teams play, not allowing any opportunities for any of his team mates, and they are not developing as a result? It does appear that the coaches only game plan is to get him the ball, 100% of the time, so that seems reasonable.

Or, maybe they just feel guilty about how dishonest it is to play him down. After all, as parent, we always want to teach our kids to do the right thing.

I'm thinking maybe it's all of these things.

I kind of hope he sticks around. Seems like a very nice boy. Hope the parents get their act together, though. They appear to be a real mess.

No skin in the game, but I do share the experience of having a son on a team with a big dominant hold back. It was a horrible experience for my son and 90% of the players on the team. This scenario went on for years, just like Madlax. For a few years the team was dominant. Won a ton of games and were tops in the area. However, the only reason why we won all of those games was because of this one kid. Everyone knew it. The parents of the team knew it. The players knew it. The competition new it. The competitions parents knew it. Everyone. It was extremely obvious. Give the ball to the big kid and let him score. Sound familiar? It's the exact same scenario as Madlax. After about 3-4 years, our team started to lose. Several teams were now better than us. Even younger teams were beating us. Why? All of the other teams were developing all of their players during this time when our team was handing the ball to the big kid. Our team wasn't developing at all during this time, because no one else did anything. Not so sure it was even good for the big kid. Yeah, maybe he gains some confidence after running over teams that are half his size, but it's not real competition for him. So, was the experience actually helping him? That's debatable. The parents finally started to complain, but it took about 4-5 years. It's better now, but still not great, since we still have the hold back. But, the size advantage has subsided some, since a lot of the kids are starting to catch up with him, size-wise. The point? Parents, don't let this happen. Don't waste this valuable time in your sons development, by allowing this Madlax scenario to continue. They are stealing your money and to add insult to injury, your son will be years behind his peers, that have not had to endure such conditions. I wish you the best. It's not easy. Good luck!
