Interesting statement. At first I read it as a slam, then I looked at the schools these kids are going to and I see it as an overwhelming positive. How else could you look at it? Duke, Ivy League, Nova, service academies etc…I agree with you buddy!
I would hold my kid back 3 years if he could get into some of those schools. It's a means to an end.
Boys are typically immature at that 18-19-20 year old age. Why not stack the odds in your favor for success?
