Nah the 28 team is a good team. Right up there as 3rd-5th best team in the island, depending on the day. Not bad considering there are probably close to 20 teams in the 28 age group locally. S2S Daddy pipe dreams: “Don’t worry Son, I’m telling you, you’re on the 3-5th best team on LI.” Meanwhile the best 3-5 LI teams are not even in the top 50 in Nation. Not form the island but the only time I have seen S2S was at a tourney in ct last year and Express North was up 13-0 on them. Express North is a good team but not a great team. S2S is not good.

Why on earth would you bring kids in from other towns for your town youth program? How does that develop the kids in your town and get them ready for hs?
You may not win as many games but what you do is prevent those 3-4 kids who aren’t “there yet” for whatever reason from getting meaningful development.
Someone said it earlier, the people who run Greeley lacrosse have completely lost perspective. The HS coach should be livid about this and I can’t believe he would let happen. Have to believe he doesn’t know it’s happening which is also not a good look.

There's a pileup of 4-2 teams going into the last weekend of the regular season. The biggest matchup will be Hawks vs Next Level. One of those team will be 4-3 and more than likely out of the playoffs.

Why is Coppermine exclusively playing at Coppermine fields? NGLL scheduled most league games there. If it were up to the actual Coppermine teams they would be played at Norris Turf - not Edgewood. It’s not an advantage by any means. Not affiliated with coppermine at all and would agree with this comment. There is no home field advantage at copperplex.

Spalding has been rolling every one in their path surprised more people aren’t talking about them. beat a now shuttered vandermont academy by 1, lost to BL, lost to Gilman by 7, beat Loyola in OT - maybe you are referring to a Spalding in another state? Nope. Referring to the one that just beat CH. Say what you want to say. You’re surprised nobody is talking about Spalding, just say what you want. Maybe nobody cares about one win in a regular season game?

Why does Calvert Hall think they are special? Charging for Friday night games! No other MIAA school charges admission. The $5 really stings. Did you have enough left over to pay rent?

The 2028 s2s team has a few kids that should play but should probably move on to Express or Venom.

Igloo Winter Soldiers beat Express East by one
Express Chucks beat Igloo by at least 3 goals and dominated the game
Express Chucks and Express East tied and Chucks lost in OT/Braveheart
Seems like the chatter of Rebels and Igloo being top dogs needs to die down. Rebels beat igloo 10-3 the other day missing 2 of top kids who are injured. Good to see parity starting to build, but think igloo might just be down a bit. Just another rebels troll. Anyone there knows we didn’t beat igloo 10-3. We beat them by one goal.

[quote=Anonymous]You all sound ridiculous! You should start thinking about where your kid is going to high school. In the MIAA, the 28s were loaded with talent, leaving only a few places that will have room and money for our boys. STM seems to be the only place that will take anyone, given how their season has played out.[/quote
I watched the Hawks/ FCA game today after my son's game. All I can say is wow. The Hawks are awful compared to other Hawks teams. They nearly lost today. Good luck with the high school search… One thing that you have to take into consideration.....that most seem to be forgetting is that the 2029 class is the first group to walk through "AGE VERIFICATION". I got a chance to watch the FCA vs CRABS 2028 game yesterday and there was a lot of talent on the field, but more importantly the size of the kids on the field is insane. In talking to a parent, they guessed that approximately 6-8 players on each team are probably "hold backs"..Crabs has two "double holdbacks" and none would be eligible to play if the 2028's were under the AGE VERIFICATION rules. That's approximately 12-16 players. Now again, it doesn't matter at all once you get to high school so who cares.....but I can guarantee you that there are 20-25 current 7th grade players out there, who are being forced to play up at 2028's this season due to age verification (take a look at Crabs 2028 B team for several), who won't be allowed to play in HOCO next season as an 8th grader, but who will be allowed to play in non-age verified tournaments in the fall / summer (pretty much every tournament but NLF) as 2029's next season.

Ok, hopefully FCA player is Ok.
Maybe some predictions for this weekend to lighten the mood:
Crabs 14, FCA 4. Assuming the FCA FOGO is still out and on his way to recovery… Crabs will dominate possession and score at will. FCA will struggle mightily as they did against team 91 without perhaps the best FOGO in HoCo.
Hawks 13, NL 5. Hawks are clicking, and they match up well with NL. NL has won the games they should, and have gotten blown out in tougher games. I think they get blown out. They lack real firepower on Offense, and they depend heavily on their goalie. But the Hawks will break through and score a bunch.
DCE 13, Team Money 5. Team Money is in the wrong end of the pool in Elite Division. DCE may finally have a chance at the FOGO dot and actually get some possessions. They will likely play their entire roster if they get up, so the result won’t be as bad as it might be, but an 8 goal differential is my guess.
Upset Alert: Team 91 7, Madlax 5. Good goalie matchup, but Team 91 coming off a strong game against FCA. Some of ML flyins won’t post, and 91 has a very good FOGO to offset the Madlax FOGO from Michigan. Madlax will get caught looking ahead to their Toilet Bowl game against DCE next weekend, the 91 goalie will out duel the ML goalie, and 91 spoils their weekend You nailed three of four picks. Hawks and DCE won in blowouts, and MadLax v 91 was a two goal game, with MadLax coming out on top, but I’ll give you that one because you called a close game. The only one you missed was Crabs/FCA, which you called a blowout and it an actually was a one goal game. I assume this means that FCA expedited the return of the fogo with the concussion, which fits the image the coaches have cultivated for themselves. The other takeaway is that it appears the division has three elite teams, four who are a notch below elite and have some work and some summer recruiting to do if they want to be elite for HS, and one that probably didn’t belong in the division at all. 91 has something like 5 wins in the last 4 years. They belong in the last group as well. Sometims you have to win those 1 goal games, and if you never do, it's a sign that the roster talent and/or coaxhing cannot do wjat they claim to be doing. Expect them to "practice squad" most of the current roster and build out of state talent this summer into next fall. But yes the Summer 2025 91 squad will be legit for the 2028s.

HoCo coaches need better concussion training. A concussed player was sent back in the game and things clearly got worse from there. When kids take significant blows to the head they should come out of the game for assessment and coaches should err on side of caution before subbing them back in. These games are meaningless fun but concussion impacts can be serious and last a lifetime. It shouldn't take a kid lying on the ground, puking, or not knowing where he is to diagnose a concussion. Hope coaches and the league will do better for the kids going forward. What is your suggestion??? How’s the kid doing? Is he back playing already? It’s really none of your business. That’s a really odd response to someone asking how the kid is doing. no it's not odd. if you know the family or someone on the team you can ask them, but 8th grader's medical conditions aren't great topics for chat boards.

Hawks vs Crabs and Clippers vs Team MD. Should be two good games. Hawks will beat Crabs by 5. Crabs are anverage ant most positions annd great in one, and Hawks are solid everywhere. There isn’t one thing you can take away from them like you can for crabs. FCA didn’t lock off #7 on Crabs, he scored 5 of 6. Hawks will and he won’t score more than 2.

the problem wth daddy coaches they cannot be objective and play best kids. it's all about little Timmy being a four year starter and making plays around their son so they have high stats for the newspaper. So true. So shameless. And they are so clueless that they actually think they are respected. Yeah they’re terrible coaches, how many times did the Pequa and GC coach win championships? Every situation is different. At my son’s school it will be interesting to see if the coach moves on.
