Ahh starting another b level club team in harco has been done before. Its like true 2.0 super expensive, sweet new equipment, and film average nothing earned. You can't have kids playing "A" conference level 3 months out of the year then show up with club team and play in lower level brackets for other nine months. Yes they might be at same tournaments but the JC kids will be on sidelines in between games watching the other HARCO "A" conference kids compete. if you want to play in the "A" kids will need to stay away from their own school club to develop. Playing lower level in offseason does not prep kids for brutal schedule of MIAA. They will show improvement this year more cause the bottom of the league is really down. Does seem they are spending money, issue is they are now spending school money for same "B" level kids they got before. Top kids in 2028 went to CHC and other Bmore schools even when kids had family ties to JC, coaches couldn't land them.

If this is your first step into the culture of these lax programs, I apologize for the sense of chaos you must feel. I don't know if the Philly Main Line schools are any less toxic/bullying/run by Man Baby Alumni with substandard sons who NeEd tO MaKe VaRsiTy fReShhman YeaR.....but Philly schools could not possibly be much worse than the culture of most of these MIAA programs, and those Philly schools send more of their lax holdbacks to play at the Ivies, at least.

The reality is that given the portal, holdbacks, PG years, and boarding students all over the place, the meritocracy for "local students" isn't really a thing. Be a major donor, and/or have an (older) kid with outstanding athletic genetics, OR move your kid to a non-cut spring sport if they want to see the field and not just the backs of the starters' jerseys all spring.

While I would love to go into what I find wrong with everything you say, which I do as it is everything that is wrong with sports besides professional, the sad reality is that you are right. And the sad reality is that it is not going away, frankly I am expecting other ways to skew the system .

Anyone that wants to compete and give their son a good chance to play and enjoy high level lacrosse, read the above as the truth and do your best to follow.

Proposed college roster limits would further limit college recruiting at the D1 level.

Lacrosse can't get out of it's own way because nepotism and cronyism abounds.

Sounds like they are finally taking it seriously.

That explains the detest.

Good for JC.

New Coach needs to get kids to next level. Multiple year starters in the "A" conference and kids still have no home for next year. Got numbers in '28 class but more lower level talent that couldn't play anywhere else in "A". Heard good number of talented kids transferred out or decided not to play in order to transfer. Did get a game changer face off kid to build off of in future classes

So they ain't going anywhere.

The new coach is also a great dude. One of the good guys of lax. IMO they are easy to root for.

I believe JC had a bigger footprint when they were in the "B" then they do after numerous years in the "A"

And don't expect a club to develop your son. They generally only provide exposure.
Spend money on individual training.
Most of what kids accomplish is developed on their own. The kids who put in extra work are the ones who usually succeed.

If your kid is unreal he will play.
If your kid is good he will play.
If your kid is decent he will probably play but it depends.
If your kid is in the margins, he won’t play unless there is some non talent reason pushing things.
If your kid is terrible, he won’t play unless your checkbook gets a full workout or you have the same last name as someone on the staff.

Most of the complaints/whining/outrage come from parents of kids who are either decent or in the margins. Tough place to be in this league.

However, you knew how good/fast/tall/strong/connected your kid was before you decided to send him to an A conference school. It is what it is.

Calvert Hall has lost its way and it’s win at all costs; the problem is there has been very little winning lately! Changes are needed across the board but unfortunately will never happen with Mulford/Kelly running the show for the entire athletic department.

Money Talks Morality Walks

This is so true. In terms of the fall, soccer was a mess due to fresh lax players being guaranteed spots (on var and JV) and have heard horror stories about the freshman JV lax dads on soccer sidelines. Var football was not much better. Water polo was good but nobody cares. None of this bodes well for lacrosse season. Mulford needs to get a handle on whats going on but he won't/can't due to Kelly influence. The whole senior goalie thing speaks for itself and paints the picture perfectly of whats going on there (unfortunately).

Spalding finally gets the Championship while StM hits bottom and falls below StJ and JC .

Yup. 100%.

If playing time matters, do research. The deepest teams only play 23 kids per game. But parents are surprised when there are 55 kids rostered and their child doesn't see field. 😆
