Why June 1? Why not May 1 or heck January 1? If we get to arbitrarily choose a date, why stop at June 1. Convince maybe? I’m guessing your kid is a June 2010 holdback? For definition purposes a holdback is a holdback if they are born before September 1, 2010.

This YJ parent is a nerd, all they talk about is MD holdbacks, it is 100% cope.

First tournament tomorrow for many teams, will be really interesting to see if landscape changed at all. It looks like the top team remain strong but do any teams push them?

Having two players that are a year to a year and half older then the other team's girls is an advantage. Especially at this age. It just is.

My kid isnt a hold back and if she was i would admit it. People have tons of reasons. Maybe you need to research the boys rules with holdbacks now and how they recognize that summer birthdays are just different. You need to open your mind a little

Laughable. Only thing they prevented was a double hold back which thank goodness isn’t an issue with girls. And HOCO didn’t even adhere to the rules.

How much is BIC? How much is UA 150? Sorry I'm new to all of this and we could only afford to do one of these events or none after paying for club dues, hotels, etc.

Thank you for the reply. I was just talking to my oldest brother whose daughter played Div I back in early 2020s and he was astounded at the costs associated with lax now. There were not any extra events, clinics, camps to attend and pay for.

Actually there are two on Hero’s. Can’t speak to M&D though.

Some great lacrosse today at the Natl’ Fall Lax Fest!

M&D won, heros looked pretty good but had tough schedule, integrity was awesome, and m&d dc played well and made it to final. It was fun to watch, super high level all day!

The ‘29 class is going to be fun to watch this year. Especially the top 10 teams battling it out all year. Got to love NXT traveling down to Maryland in fall to play against the top teams. They are a great team! Looking at you YJ parent who likes to lurk around here!

What about the other (mid tier) teams? SW? MDU? The new M&D team (DC??)

Skywalkers and MDU East came up short with no wins yesterday

It was a great day and the top teams are going to be fun to watch. After yesterday, there is no one top team and these girl clearly have a lot of competition out there! The games were fun to watch and the other parents were great to interact with. Gotta love a positive sideline. Kudos, parents!

Couldn’t agree more! Hopefully this board follows suit and people have come to realize and respect the level of competition and play in the 2029 class. Time will tell… for now, it’s nice to see the girls being celebrated for a wonderful weekend of lacrosse.

As was predicted on this thread, MDU took a step back, fell apart against M&D DC and tying an average SW team and a bad xtreme squad. SW is just average. They have improved a little by picking up some girls, but I don’t think this team will turn into a monster team in HS. M&D DC is next level with a few decent additions from Pride, but they didn’t seem to take a step forward enough to compete with the best. BLC is the same as last year, they are good enough to stay in games but won’t ever win anything of note. Integrity looked pretty good even though they lost their most talented player, but then they fell apart against M&D DC in semifinal.

Coppermine is in some hot water after their starting midfielder got pregnant by a St. Paul's freshman!

Lol probably. They still have a ton of talent, but they didn’t look great this weekend. The ball didn’t move around like it normally does, a little more me ball than usual. And watching the new coaches lose it on the sidelines during the m&d game was amazing.

They are a very talented team. As mentioned earlier the top 3 teams in Maryland are the best 3 in the country (prove me wrong LI parents) and NXT is right there in the mix. So when you play a schedule that includes NXT and M&D, it will be a tough game regardless of prior year results. If you look at this weekend NXT split with M&D and lost to heros. Heros beat NXT and lost to M&D. The integrity loss was a fluke. M&D split with NXT and beat Heros. Heros is still top of the class until someone can consistently beat them. One tough weekend doesn’t bump them from the top.

Agree with everything except integrity is a legit squad. They are very well coached and play great defense, so I wouldn’t call the win a fluke. They are just a legit top 10 team that can win every so often against the absolute best. NXT is an awesome team that is also well coached, they played really well. I heard M&D looked sloppy in first game against NXT, but they looked incredible when I saw them against BLC and in the final against next level. They definitely improved on an already amazing roster. Going to be a fool year!

Agree on Integrity as well. Although they didn’t win they gave M&D fits last year with their zone backer and did win against some other very talented top teams. They played 4 full games Saturday before the playoff and in my opinion just ran out of gas in the semis. M&D historically looks sloppy in fall but, this year they looked strong after game one. The Heros game was fun to watch as an outsider not associated with either team. There was a full parent sideline of spectators like myself who weren’t even part of either team. Just there to watch two top teams put on a show. Congratulations on a great weekend to all the girls.
