yes Congrats to the kids on the list, these lists are never perfect but this is pathetic. Newsday needs to be better you have non committed players over top 10 div 1 recruits..
This list means nothing. They rely heavily on last seasons performances. Most team lost significant pieces. A good percentage of this list has done nothing this season. How about real time results and acknowledgements

Shaky start? Who cares, they’re not playing for the National Championship just NYS.

Southside dominated from start to finish. Garden City was never in that game. Not from either town but watched on Varsity Media. Great all around lacrosse.

Congrats to SS on their first respectable win ever. Can they keep it up year in and year out?

Congratulations to South Side on the big win. GC deserves credit for having an outstanding lacrosse program year after year. That said, their offense looked dreadful yesterday. Boring and sleepy. No one could dodge. Intent is not to be critical but provide observations as a non interested party.

In all seriousness how does Newsday come up with their list. Certainly every year kids are left off that shouldn’t be. Not any coaches kids mind you so how do they choose? Generally interested, no axe to grind.

Would you rather they bring in backups and they shoot/score endlessly? I never understood that rationale; bring in your backups and they can keep shooting.
BUT DONT DARE KEEP YOUR STARTERS IN!
Id rather my son lose to the starters

Darien 20. Manhasset 4. Ouch. CT public’s would appear to have the upper hand this year.

Manhasset losing a combined 33-9 to FCIAC teams is really something.

SS is off to a great start, no argument there and maybe this is their year to win the island. However, my point is very simple - In order to gain real recognition SS will need to get it done consistently like teams such as WM, GC and Manhasset.

1 league, LI and state championship (2004) is a far cry for the historically elite public schools.

Side note: SS is a combined 3-53 vs GC and manhasset.

Well history doesn’t mean much, right now it’s the RVC team winning big time games.

Good for them for taking advantage. But I think everyone c a see it’s a very down year in Nassau.

What game was this? St Ignatius? Chaminade has lost two very close games to big ranked teams - starters been slow starting. It's a long season, and 12-6 is NOT a blowout. That being said when is the last time that school has had 4 sophomore starters. Everything changes with time I guess. Would detest to be a sophomore, junior, or senior at those positions. Wonder what the REAL story is?

Not at all surprised. Most of their starters from an exceptional 2023 class, graduated. The demographics of Manhasset are changing, Lacrosse may not be their thing anymore.

Manhasset is going to struggle the next few years. Lack of talent in the pipeline. Next good class is 2029 and they are stacked.

They losing kids to private schools? Lots of that over here in CT too. Seems like the public school level of play is dropping. @ChillLaxin. Still fun rivalries but I think public vs private is a gap that is only widening. Only speaking for CT schools.

Manhasset kids have great school district and great sports. Don’t see why they have the need to go to private schools?
