Except it's not....Surge is a stand-alone team and have previously played competitive games against Frost and Dune Dawgs (I bet GSB White will be in that conversation as well). "Express Orange" is about as real as the Easter Bunny. It's only 7 players that are probably on that team, and the rest are OG Chucks. 2 former Lumberjax, 1 Venom, and 1 Adrenaline player (all AA teams), were on the field (verified blatantly by their helmets). This is what happens when all you care about is taking tuition money. If you can't field a roster of at least 15 kids, call up another club in a similar boat and work something out. But that will never happen because integrity is long absent from the club team scene.

Nobody is hiding anything- they want to wear the same helmets as their teammates. Everyone knows most of the kids you can’t hide players on the field

I thought that a stand alone team meant that they only play in tournaments with the kids who pay tuition, practice and are not on other higher level teams

The fact that this was brought up is laughable. It was one tournament where surge had no goalie at a tournament in november at stony brook, so the venom goalie played. the fogo played in a different tournament last fall at farmingdale because they had no fogo. I don't remember any defensemen playing for surge.

Very pathetic attempt by someone to bring shade on Surge, i don't think they need your negativity.

Leave Surge alone, they are trying to make kids better. And for the record, they have never used Venom players.

You might want to walk that back. They absolutely used venom kids a couple of years ago. Goalie and fogo same game. They weren’t trying to hide it. But it was a couple of years ago so who cares.

Exactly right! The only reason for any of this is the Directors can’t say no to the tuition from those 10 families. If you don’t have enough players to make a team you should cut those players so they can go play somewhere else on a real team. It was a con job.

But then those players could go play for another team… that’s contrary to what a lot of these club directors are about— tuition, and being able to beat the other competing clubs in the area. If they were truly about developing lacrosse players, they’d do exactly what you suggest— cut the players who will not play so they can go learn and develop elsewhere.

LIke I said, my son has been on the team a few years, I don't know all of the new kids. There might've been some who just joined who didn't play, but i don't know. They are going with a black team and orange team, although it seems that some of the lower AA players will be playing with orange to fill out that team. If not, I'm not sure what the plan is.

Surge has bigger issues! The head coach is verbally abusive. All he does is tell the kids what they did wrong and how bad they are. Completely favors all the Hills kids. Tells the kids they’re the worst lacrosse players and they’re losers. Coach tells the kids “ you’re all losers, you must like losing. I’m gonna call you losers”. How 91 stills lets this guy coach children is amazing! The worst part is the parents complain about him but continue to pay to be there. Very sad.

More like BTB improved again. They have the best coach i have seen in club.

He is a great coach. But he screwed over a bunch of kids this past tryouts. I heard!

BTB beat a good team by 1. They beat 2 B teams and a town team without its top players. Let’s see them in a true AA bracket.

If anything the gap got smaller! They only added one kid who will compete with the starters. The rest will come off the bench.
