Who was at Express tryouts? About 100 kids there. Any opinions? Not the most accurate count but I very close estimate is 90 something. Hopefully they will only have two teams, so they can concentrate on player development and overall lacrosse IQ for the B team.

They have no offense, their midfield has no concept of how to play defensive, they have no slide package and they don’t know how to clear the ball.

Less than 40. Most helmets were existing players. Seems this organization is falling off the radar for this age. Shame. Good coaches and organization.

Current National ranking is 149, but they are 19th in NY. You have a record of 15-18-1. If you believe in these rankings you must also believe that One day Coach C will put your kids on his A team. Just not happening especially with his new holdbacks and 90 mile commuter kids. You should of made the move! LI holdbacks? Say it aint so!!!????

Not much in our area. Couldn't be happier. 100% his decision with that time commitment.

are we saying that the legacy tryout isn't good because most of their kids want to stay with their team? and that they may look at some other kids to fill holes etc? with, I think that is a sign of a solid team, not a bad sign.

No the coaches, parents and kids are all complacent! Legacy 2026’s are a team of the past. 6-23 to date and ranked 124 by US ClubLax. Heroes to zeros in a very short period of time. Most 2026 Long Island teams have progressed, but not Legacy. Can’t improve unless you practice and play and that wasn’t in Zumo’s playbook this season. Tryouts were mostly existing Legacy kids. Obviously not a lot of interest to join the team. Heard 2025 Legacy and Rush merging? Stay tuned.

Talk was that there was going to be 3 teams. There A team is good but B is poor (compared to other historic B teams) No idea how they could justify a C team.

that's a disgrace that they put sweetlax number 1, they beat the Express team once. pretty sad. Tigers, Towerman, Express North and Hawks have all beaten LIE this season. Parity folks and the algorithm is flawed. That being said, LIE had the best season and should be #1 IMHO but it’s not a disgrace for any of those teams to have been at the top. What is a disgrace is the national teams, all star teams and guest players/reclasses on teams chasing t shirts are all captured in these rankings. Sweet lax won a monster tourney with the deepest field, they can claim top dog until fall or even spring.

This doesn’t even make sense. Solid team? It means that there’s typically 20-25 kids on a team…so less than 20 “new” faces wanting to go to those tryouts. That’s a bad sign. No one is clamoring to go to legacy. They also lost players after the season so there’s even bigger holes now.

Cool story Have to agree with the PP, Hawks and Towermen could not even make semi finals at NLF National Championship and World Series to play these elite teams. Both are ranked behind True. Would be indecent to bring up World Series qualifier (someone did not qualify cough cough), Naptown or Millon results.... cough cough hairballs

And they beat 2 of the the number 1 and 2 ranked teams this summer and lost to number 3 and 4 in OT. But some folks with kids on weaker teams somehow still don’t think they belong in the conversation. Sounds like sour grapes to me.

When are you fools going to realize that rankings don’t mean squat. The only thing that matters for the high level kids is who is getting calls on Sept 1 of their junior year. If your club has a good track record with recruiting and your kid is legit, that’s all you need to worry about.

Express North clearly playing with holdbacks and the same could be said about True National who is now #4 according to the recent rankings. Their scores show them playing in Lake George which is not a place you typically see a national team playing but to each their own. Perhaps they’ll test themselves at some more competitive events. LIE top ranking is well deserved and agree that with the top 3 stated earlier. Keep an eye on Towermen, who are solid now that they can play with their older kids. The holdback/reclass issue will be interesting to watch this fall and next summer to see it’s impact vs. legit on-age teams.

Yes I posted the one about rankings meaning squat. My kid plays for a team ranked in the top 10 of the US club lax rankings. If you don’t agree with the post you are either a fool or trying to live thru your son.

Take it from a parent with a 2026 kid and a kid playing mid level D1. In about 5 years you will all realize how silly you all sound. And if you think your kid needs a club program to get recruited, think again. Prospect camps and showcases will be the more likely path to an offer for most players. Good grades will open up many more doors so I would focus your energy on getting your son to read a book rather than a peeing war about whose club is better.

Towermen need their older kids to compete at the elite level which is why they didn’t originally qualify for the WS. It’s irrelevant now that the WS is over but they clearly need their holdbacks to be in this conversation. In fact, any team that plays with older reclassed kids should at least be comfortable admitting it vs. denying those players aren’t on their teams. They’re not breaking the rules but at least acknowledge it gives you a competitive advantage between 7th and 9th grade. Tends to even out afterwards.
