No report of turnout at igloo tryouts?
Someone must have gone……..? Decent turnout. Maybe 70 kids ? Anyone have any information on this team ? Coaches ? 70+ and they were missing a lot of their existing players. Shore 2 Shore had a few, so did Legacy and Express (B and C). Most of the other teams represented as well. The 91,Express and Direwolves (A) all looked good along with a few S2S. After that it’s a real drop off. Might see a few additions. IMHO.

I actually was thinking a bunch of the 91 kids would try to move over to Igloo this year. I am surprised to hear there was only one.

This is from a website of a Mid Atlantic program, all spelled out prior to tryouts. 2028, 2027, 2026 Teams The HAWKS will offer one or more teams per age group Costs- Full Membership $2,050 This covers: Coaching 4 Free Position Specific Skill Sessions Under Armour Game Uniform Under Armour Hoody and Sweat Pants All 4 Summer Tournament Fees 2 Fall Tournament Fees All Spring Tournament/Play Day Fees. Participation in HoCo Spring League. Games are Sundays in April and May. January and February practices 1time per week Spring outdoor practices 2-4 times per depending on week. Summer Practices Players must provide own travel and lodging. There are no additional team costs: there are no additional tournament fees. Serious question - if your son makes the World Series team is that included? WSYL was the 5th tournament and we did not pay any additional fees. Matt Hogan picked up the tab Not a true statement. Hawks played in 4 summer tournaments and WSYL was one of them. Matt Hogan did NOT pick up the tab nor charge anything more than initial fee.

I didn’t see any super stud in the Igloo helmets. Some were ok. The Igloo players you probably saw were mostly B team. They were missing a lot of A kids including multiple starters.

This algorithm nonsense is a joke. I am not a towermen supporter just a lax fan. It is mid-July and the best summer teams aren’t determined by results in March or May or June. Towermen beat 3D NE and LIE CoachC at the latest weekend tournament. Why should it matter what happened before? Lax teams don’t play a best of 3 or 5 or 7 series against each other like other sports. The last game you win or lose let’s you know where you stand. Same as in NCAA. Based on algorithm UVA was worst team in ACC but UVA won their last game against an undefeated Maryland. Same thing happened to BC wlax- lost to UNC and Syracuse several times but in the last tournament beat both. Same applies to USA vs Canada- best team is the one who won the last game. If Sweetlax beats LIE at NLF then Sweetlax is better than CoachC. Same thing if Hawks win NLF. Lacrosse teams get better or worse during the summer and it is pretty clear Towermen are better since they won! It is not arrogant for UVA or BC say they are the best even though maybe better players on other teams or overall record not the best. Beauty of sports is you settle disagreements on the field. Summer season is ending and whoever wins their last tournament is the best among those teams competing. If your team doesn’t win you will get another chance next summer. Stop crying and enjoy the high-level competition. This is a ridiculous argument. Everything doesn't hinge on one game unless there is a national championship where all top teams (top 20) are there. Other than that, you can't base "who's better" by one game. There are so many factors, like travel, missing players, injuries, illness, conditions, etc. From what I saw, the all world FOGO for LI Express wasn't there. Could he have made a difference in a 1 goal game? Maybe, maybe not. But if he had been there, the outcome may have been different. Kudos to Tmen for a hard fought win. Great to see kids battle and play so well, on both sides. But to say that "you are what you've done in your last game", in a 30 or 40 game summer season is ridiculous. Think college football BEFORE playoffs. There was a number 1 team determined by the cumulative record over the course of a season. Until there is a definitive national championship (not the NLF, where half the Top 20 aren't even there), then you will have to rely on something better. And in the end, who gives a bleep about who's number 1...certainly not college recruiters and scouts.

There is a place for all kids to play, whether it be A, B or C. If the player loves the game and wants to play find him a program that works for him. Keep your expectations realistic of the players talent. You will find out quick enough his desire and commitment to playing.

Same goes for a defensive player that shuts down offense and gets all ground balls. Let them make their own choices to tryout and play. They will be realistic and happier for it.

This I think is a notIntelligent theory. So create a bunch of team hoppers who think they are better then everyone else. dont try to just keep improving your team. dense. Its why the club lacrosse is a joke. High School lacrosse makes people have to develop all the kids in their town to make the team good. Those are really the better programs. Creating super teams of Lebron Jameses hopping from teams to teams is just a joke. Players know who they can compete with. Parents get a bit carried away with ratings etc. An attackmen or middie that breezes through everyone should try to move up to better team. So what is the level of the teams that play in the AA bracket of tournaments? They are A’s and the B team plays in the A bracket? So 2026 CoachC is a A team not a AA team? This is very confusing?

I think rankings are more directional. If you are in the top 10 or 20 you have a good team. I think more telling is if you look at the LI express. The Top team is number 2 now and the second team (A or B team depending on how they label their teams) is ranked 199. How does that happen?

Current National ranking is 149, but they are 19th in NY. You have a record of 15-18-1. If you believe in these rankings you must also believe that One day Coach C will put your kids on his A team. Just not happening especially with his new holdbacks and 90 mile commuter kids. You should of made the move!
