Severna Park wound up killing Churchill 17-8 I really thought that would be a closer game. Sherwood will probably lose by 20+ to them. Anyone else going to give them a game? Spaulding might give them a game. Spaulding is focused on trying to recruit a new team right now. Very busy. The players should be hitting the wall right now or they will they will be sitting on the bench next spring watching all their new teammates.

Fogos gotta know and fix it after faces with a softball. Lame excuse by the kid to complain about it. And no, not every fogos stick is illegal. If the kid's stick was insanely illegal all game, you gotta call it to make a point or gain an advantage back.

Good on them. Why the ire for Spalding? They are just doing the same thing BL/CH/McD etc. are doing with recruiting.

I saw Spalding coaches at the Severna Park game evaluating players. Expect offer letters to be going out soon.

Recruiting is competitive - appears the traditional powers have intensified and broadened recruiting models I would not be surprised to see more regional or even national rosters coming

So the 3rd kid lives in Massachusetts and goes to school in Maryland but is playing for the South Division of UA? If you have to travel to weaker lacrosse regions to make a team, should you really be allowed to try out there?

If the kid's stick was insanely illegal all game, you gotta call it to make a point or gain an advantage back. The rules for the stick dimensions are given for every point of time in the game - So yes, every stick is illegal at some point in the game. The refs obviously see that they are twisted out of compliance during the action. If the rule is you are allowed to bend it back into conformance before and after a faceoff, the refs should give you the chance to bend before they measure.

Is the public school lacrosse just that bad? Severna park is not a great team. Couple of nice kids after that not much talent. Not one kid that plays on a top club team. It's hard to build a "super team" when you can't reclass and have to use the kids that live in a 5 mile radius - but also the name on your chest represents a community and not just a school that is giving you the most money to go there.

I know parents are going to do alll they can to get their kids that AllAmerican accolade, but it such a desperate flex. I have a feeling that maybe Corrigan will do something next year about it because it’s slowly becoming the popular thing to do. American Select just put the lid on this by saying that you must play for the team you tried out for. UAAA just put the the Baltimore and fc tryouts at the same time- it was really getting annoying all the thirst out there!

NHSLS schedule is out. Should be some fun lacrosse next week. Most of the MIAA, WCAC, and IAC will be there. As well as the New England powers.

Dude. SP lost at home to SG in 2019 when LJ was a freshman and they were still in their usual bottom feeder mode. SP has not beat STM since the middle 1970's and have dodged opportunities to play them in recent years. I get it you have school pride, that's awesome, SP is a nice school and great program. but c'mon man, stay in your lane.

So it has began - the insanity of it all. So what happens when the sons of Big Donor BL Alumni don't make the team until their senior year or see the field because of players from NC, CO, Texas, FL etc... or even Canada?

When push came to shove BL won it with local seniors who had been at the school for years. They stepped up and were key contributors in the end. They were the difference.
You win with heart not a quick fix.

Well Said!....a group of seniors who came up thru the Baltimore Club scene, fought thru injuries all season, stayed workmanlike and steady to the task, and were able to beat two teams that beat them earlier in the year!...Great Job!!!

When BLs top D went down they had kids that stepped up. One was lights out during playoff run.
Now they are going the out of state route to find poles. Strange!

Also interesting that all three (and 11 of the rostered 23) play for Nationals Lacrosse Club. And the evaluators/coaches for UAAA South? You guessed it, Lou G. himself and another Nationals coach.

Point being is that the kids that can win it for you are right at your own school. Many have been there for years. This year is proof of that.
Don’t need to go to Colorado, Delaware, Mass, Florida, to find them.

Most public school kids will have no problem adjusting to the atmosphere at Spalding although kids from strong public schools, like Severna Park, will likely have some culture shock as they adjust to the New Cut environment.

SG and STM can build "super teams" using reclass kids and pull in kids from 60 miles away or more. Public schools can't. Any MIAA or other private school should be royally embarrassed to have all those advantages and sill lose to a public school.

But you don't have to take some obsessed internet weirdos word for it - there are sites that rank schools like niche (spolier, as is ranked well below severn but a little above other area privates like stm, msj, dematha). Or you can check the matriculation list. Hopefully you are just some kid who's girl left you for a spalding dude to be this infatuated with them

Over at a DC lax board, they are claiming that the top kids are bailing from SJC to play for Ripley. I doubt rising seniors are transferring. But did Ripley hire Coach Fyock away from SJC and get their goalie in the process?
