What do you expect FLG is involved with UA selections ( talk about coaches bias). Coaches bias will always be a factor but the good college Coaches want to WIN and that is why they run there own recruiting showcases yes somewhat of a money grab. Find the Schools you like make sure you match up academically and play your heart out and let them know your interested with an email . Probably best times are summers after sophomore and junior years. If they like they will look you up and maybe you get an invite. Also to the comments about needing to play on best club teams, sounds like a CLUB leader sounding off trying to protect there money train . Best multi-sport athletes will almost always rise to the top. Playing multiple sports keeps you healthy and fresh. With regards to these Maverick and UA chosen teams if you have the money go for it. However, if you have not hit puberty or are just starting don't waste your time, size always gets the best looks.

The top kids are enjoying playing the last summer with their club teams. Why would you do a college showcase if you're already committed?

For all that say UA isn’t what it once was, that memo hasn’t reached the D1 head coaches. They are all there. Name him and he is there.

Beware of the multi sport, a torn ACL before Senior it Junior year is crushing. If your kid wants to play college lacrosse focus on it last two years. Trust me.

1. They had 4 attackmen and one got hurt, leaving them with 3. They were supposed to have 6. 2. They had one 1 hr walk through practice the night before. Other UA teams have been together for weeks and have had 5-6 practices 3. Top 3 players who made team dropped off because of U-19. Other teams had U-19 players who stuck it out and still played in UA 4. Certain committed players took the weekend off and only played hard when their future college coaches were watching. Not a great look.
What exactly did you expect? If the team selected had actually shown up and played hard they would have been fine. Results were disappointing, but what blowhards on here cannot accept is that the college coaches don't care. There were 20 or more at every game including every major D1 program. The point is to get seen and recruited. By the way, there were also some very good players on the team.....

Everyone is done with the lacrosse Mafia-especially on LI. Its about what travel team you belong to and how much you spend. Rigged for years-Dads coaching lax(big business) LI hasnt figured it out yet- need to form the best TEAM. USA world team figured it out. Coach K figured it out for olympics

Command was 4-0 beating the eventual champion. highlight was 0-5 command lost to finalists philly have to admit they were good My boy was on highlight I can say with conviction WHAT A mess short handed and unorganized I’ve been in this awhile and this run with highlight was biggest waste of money in my lacrosse time. There was great lacrosse to watch there overall in both divisions just miserably hot 2021 kids getting closer to September 1

Not even sure where to begin when responding to your gibberish. But here we go... Bias? Find me a tryout where there is not bias. Coaches and evaluators do not live in bubbles, they are out there in the lacrosse world and they know many of the players and "the top players" are known more so than average players. All college coaches want to win... (not just the good ones). Best time is: "summer after junior year" ? Really? If you do not understand that playing on one of the "best club teams" is important than you really have very little knowledge about player development or the recruiting process. "Best multi-sport athletes will always rise to the top", really? How about the "best athletes" will rise to the top. If the best athlete happens to play more than one sport then all the better. However, simply playing multiple sports does not make an athlete rise to the top. With regard to Maverik and UA , well you really have no clue. As far as size goes, it is one of many factors but it really is not that important in lacrosse. Now, if the player is small, slow, weak, not athletic and has poor lacrosse skills and low lacrosse IQ that is a different story. And with regard to "their money train" nobody is forcing you to play for a club team, If you do not want to pay to play then don't. Unless of course your son attends one of the High Schools that coerces their players into playing for their (for-profit) summer club team that is the real Money Train. Some would call that extortion.

Bottom line...LI UA has become a joke. Even more embarrassing is the players announcing last minute that they don't feel like coming, and even worse the woosies that left early because they knew they looked like garbage and tried to mitigate a bad evaluation. Newsflash: anyone can have a bad day/tourney, if I were a college coach, I would cross an entitled self absorbed kid off my list for deserting his team.

Poster is not wrong. Three kids took spots then dropped off because of U-19. One U-19 kid stayed on the team, but then just didn't show up on the last day! Literally texted the coach during the game that he wasn't showing up!! Ironically, that was the one game they won. So, you can come on here and bash the coaches and UA, but some of these prima donna kids and their parents can share in the blame. U-19 didn't seem to be an issue for UA players on other teams.....only LI apparently. And what parent lets a kid quit on the team and blow off a UA game by just texting his coach after the game has already started?? Totally unimpressed with many of the selected, committed kids on this team....Good luck to them if they think this is how life works.

The entire process and tryout selection is a joke. Supposed to be putting the best talent of kids from Long Island on the team to represent the Region. Why than do they take kids from other states? There was never this much confusion over the past few years. Under Armour has become a joke. Yes, lots of coaches at this event however Coaches are at many events in the summer. Save your money, skip Under Armour and focus on your summer/fall tournaments and most importly the college prospect days.

Stop crying already. Fact is every region who had U19 players were impacted in some way; some regions more than others. Bottom line: ALL of the best talent in the 21 and 20 Grad years did not even show up for the tryout. Period. Fix that and you might have a shot against other regions who still value this tournament. If there’s not much to evaluate and therefore not much to select, you just can’t compete against other region’s best. I mean you can...but you can’t!

According to some on this site everything is a joke. Nassau vs Suffolk, Under Armor, NYS Championship etc.... just about everything. Same story over and over.
