Skywalkers are from Maryland. What do the inferior Long Island teams have to do with this discussion? Skywalkers schooled YJ last time they played 11-4.

It is what made it so amazing the M&D went so long without losing. It's stupid to argue over who is the better team.

Trading wins and losses week to week, one can't definitively claim top team honors (they all can claim one of the top teams though) and that is becoming less and less important as they get older. What was really important was the 15 college coaches that were watching the game. Good luck the rest of the season.

Hi Not sure where or how to post this- When do you think it’s time to move on from a club? Been with the club for three years. About a 40-50% win percentage. I know it’s not about the wins. We play in a major club league against the hardest competition out there. The thing is - it’s become stagnant. The club offers goalie training and draw training on the first day of practice of each spring/ fall season only. Suffered thru four hard games this weekend that would have been different if we would have won the draw. Same girls has been doing the draw for three years. Can’t win it worth crap and they insist on staying middies. Same middies for last three years who barely break 5’ and 90 lbs wet. My daughter isn’t learning anything new. Other teams chewed up our defense like bubblegum with aggressive moves that just were not in our playbook. Our attack can’t move the ball past the 8meter. They have to stop the momentum to regroup every time. I know I sound like a Monday morning QB but club takes up so much time for The whole family.

Sadly, and I say this as a 'veteran" of the travel lax circuit, the grass more than likely wont be greener elsewhere--just a different shade....if your daughter has stagnated and the coaching/playing is not teaching her anything new or improving her game, then it is definitely time to seek a new program. But as our experience has taught us/my daughter, its just more of the same eventually--in a diff color uniform. The travel machine is basically a cookie-cutter idea that has run its course. If you really look at it, there are fewer programs with more than a team or two at any one age group. My take (and just my take) is that folks don't want to shell out the ever increasing fees to have their daughters spin there collective wheels.

Club lacrosse was never meant to be what it has become in terms of every girl plays. The number of teams is staggering. If your daughter's ceiling is a 3rd or 4th tier D1, or D2/D3, you really are wasting your time and money spending the thousands and thousands of dollars as well as your actual time running around the country all summer. There are so many women's college lacrosse programs there are hardly enough high school seniors each year to fill them. Take your daughter to some camps at schools she's interested in that are realistic for her. Get good grades and be prepared for the SAT. There's a lot more money in that anyway. The problem is, even the girls on these crappy club teams(more likely their parents) think they are going to play for Maryland or UNC.

Long Island UA Command team has: 11 YJ 2021 girls 2 YJ 2022 girl
Pretty sure that shuts up the other LI clubs as to who is the best. Why would we want to play in farminVille and go to terrible school districts and end up at stony brook, Florida, JMU when we could go to academic powehouses CSH, GC, Manhasset and go to the Ivies. Seems silly to trek out to the willies for club lax. Get your grades up kids...

YJ and SW lost this weekend too. Parity is good for the sport. YJ and SW lost in 20 minute playoff games, not in pool play to an upstate NY team no one has heard of, some version of Dewlax, and an average MD United bunch. Spin it however you want, but the drop between this year and last year is pretty noticeable.

Also, Garden City has a number of girls that play YJ and some of them went Catholic private but live in the town. Also see some Cold Spring Harbor their as well. Respectfully, their is a different with not winning a game and going 4-0 in full time games and losing once in a shortened 20 minute game. Congrats to STEPS Blue!!! Yes. Have been on the winning end of these 20 min finals and it doesn’t feel right. 5-10 mins in and go to stall, doesn’t really feel like the the best team wins. Congrats to steps but if you really think they are better than YJ or skywalkers, that’s silly. How many full length games have these teams gone done 2-0 quickly only to end in a 20-3 blow/out. These super short playoff games, that this one particular tournament runs, always seems to create upsets that you never see otherwise. Credit to Steps as they knew how to capitalize on this shortened format.

STEPS Blue (A team) beat Skywalkers and then NEMS to win the title.

You can fill in any excuse why it happened but it should never happen. Very embarrassing to the YJ program

Brown, Penn and Duke are garbage? laughable. Just simple say I hate all things YJ and at least you maintain a shred of credibility.

Really not fair to two other kids from Upstate NY that would have made the team if they are not re-classing.

How do you define 2020? Already completed sophomore year and planning to PG does not make you a 2021. Command South and Command Upstate both had 2020s on their rosters.
Takes away from real 2021 and 2022s when girls play down.
Club coach condones it.

Very odd. there are no 2020's on the south team and the NC was part of the south region I think we are all smart enough to figure out NC is part of the south region, and no one is listed as 2020 on a Command roster since the division is defined by UA as 2021/22 grad years. No one is disputing players are allowed to try out in different regions. The UA site says the NC players are 2021s but they are, or at least used to be, 2020s. All were listed as 2020s last year for Brine, and one was even named a 2018 All American with grad year 2020 listed. No idea what the story is, and it didn't impact my 2020 daughter who made the Highlight team where we live, but seems unusual. https://toplaxrecruits.com/north-carolina-girls-rosters-hs-2020-middle-school-announced-nlclacrosse

I think we are all smart enough to figure out NC is part of the south region, and no one is listed as 2020 on a Command roster since the division is defined by UA as 2021/22 grad years. No one is disputing players are allowed to try out in different regions. The UA site says the NC players are 2021s but they are, or at least used to be, 2020s. All were listed as 2020s last year for Brine, and one was even named a 2018 All American with grad year 2020 listed. No idea what the story is, and it didn't impact my 2020 daughter who made the Highlight team where we live, but seems unusual. https://toplaxrecruits.com/north-carolina-girls-rosters-hs-2020-middle-school-announced-nlclacrosseMaybe they played up last year.
