Imagine if one of the Baltimore based teams could replicate what Hogan has done. Take the top 5% off of 91, FCA, Crabs, Loons, and Koopers and you have the Hawks of Central MD. Too many entrenched egos in Baltimore and DC to actually accomplish this mission.

Excellent Point and completely agree!!

If correct school age for 7th grade is 9/1/04 - 8/31/05, then anyone with a birthday before should be in 8th grade or in some of your cases 9th grade.

This was the crabs model before the competimg clubs arrived on the scene. Now crabs youth teams are the same, or worse, than other clubs. One win among all teams in hoco.

Hawks over FCA. It will be competitive...6-4
Looneys v Crabs is a toss up. It will be a one goal game. Looneys 9-8
Club Blue v Bethesda will also be close game. Club Blue 7-6
Next Level will win big over 91. Next Level 14-4

Just curious about your take on the Hawks/FCA game? Hawks is easily the better team based on the first two weeks. What makes this game anything but another easy win?

I agree Hawks are the older more experienced team and should win by 5+

How they match up. FCA has been strong at faceoffs and will be patient on offense. That is why it should be a lower scoring game.

They may be patient and it may be low scoring due to the strength of the FOGO for the Hawks

Hawks FOGO this year is a tank. Don’t get in his way when he has a head steam.

Nobody can beat him; he’s an animal and dominates the X. He won’t lose a faceoff Sunday guaranteed!! Just another stud playing for the best team in the country!!!

I am pretty sure the Hawks FOGO plays for Coach B and ACS every once in a while along with the Next Level FO kid. He is a stud and should dominate this year.

That’s a bold statement “ best team in the country” for the 3rd week of the spring season. It looks like they have a very deep midfield and should be an interesting summer. Their attack is pretty stout too

Definitely not “trolling” I think we have one of if not the best 2023 teams in the country! Why is stating it wrong? Crabs had it over the passed 2 years; we took it from them.

Hawks face off game is strong in all years. I would love to see what they are doing to get that way. Hats off to the coaches for putting in the time.

Maryland can not compete in U13 bracket. Best teams have holdbacks/prefirsts.. Just the way it is

I agree. I will say that it was quiet before the change. Lax season is just starting up.

Town & Club ball are starting as early as May 12th weekend and is obviously at full throttle come June. Things will pick up for sure.

And IMO, the 91 team from LI is the clear favorite for the WSYL. They will beat every team by double digits until maybe the semis and then Championship.

If there’s no difference in age why aren’t the crabs and hawks going to the World Series of lacrosse, yeah #9 is 13 yrs old, you parents should be ashamed of yourselves

Which parents should be ashamed? Not sure I understand your post. Crabs and Hawks have kids that meet the rules for [ChillLaxin] Co but not WCYL (like every team). What's the big deal?

I know his father well, 9 turned 13 this March or April. If you don't believe it, just check his dad out - he's not a little guy. Now let's talk lacrosse and leave the individual kids out of it. Hawks clearly the best team all season. Club Blue was equally good. Everybody else in HoCo was a step down but evenly matched for the most part. Summer should be fun.

If you speak with the father let him or his son know that in the context of this group asking if a kid is on age is actually a compliment to him. I also thought this was a great year for HOCO league. The AA Division was also fun and very competitive and could be won by a number of teams. Big question is will Club Blue return or are they forever now part of Madlax?
