The biggest problem is the fact that Lacrosse can't get it right grade based or U system pick one and go with it too many different sets of rules that create all this unnecessary discussion. Every tournament same ages creates NO questions

I'll stick with the Warriors at half the price.

Because your kid has no choice aka B talent. And that also isn't the cost but that's ok

B talent. That's funny. Keep telling yourself that.

Warriors are unquestioned B team YES to the best 2023 team but B team that's the truth the best player you had went to Bandits which is exactly the way it should be. Are the warriors good the answer is yes but a B team that is better than many A teams

I was the one who made the comment regarding the Pannell clinic about the older Igloo and the younger 90+1 kids. My son is not on either team, I was just paying a compliment to three kids who I thought were good players. I wasn't analyzing a clinic or reporting about it just paying a compliment. For the few knuckleheads who made comments about the post grow up. its kind of pathetic how you come on here and just bad mouth everything.

Incorrect. It was the 2023 team. Not younger team. There were LI 2023's playing for them.

Just so everyone understands- the Dukes team that went to Dicks was the U11 team. All players we age appropriate. To say otherwise is absurd. It was an age based tournament.

I'm not sure what's going on here! The Duke's Nationals had two players that were 2022 on their U11 team. Both middies! Not sure why that's a problem. Do you think that it's impossible to beat the 2023 Bandits who also had a couple young 2022's playing? Is it hard for anyone to believe another program can put together a talented group of players that are also well coached. Not sure why this is a problem. The Duke's are a good squad at U11 Or 2023!

As a Dukes parent there were no rules broken all kids were age appropriate formTHIS tournament Were many 2022 the answer is yes but they all made the cut off some were a large impact and some made no impact at all. Not sure why this is such a knock on the Dukes that 2022 kids played age appropriate against a 2023 team

Short of listing kids names it was many, and many from LI the thing is NO rules were broken as for this tournament they made the cut off.

If you are graduating in 2022 shouldn't you already be 12. My son is 2023 he turns 12 in April. There is one kid on his town team who is in 6th grade but was kept back, he already is 12. Doesn't add up...

Age based tournament. So it's a mix of grades, which seems to always spark a debate for some reason.

11U - Born between 6/1/2004 and 9/30/2006

Because it doesn't. Obviously it would not span 18 months. 12 months in a year. US Lacrosse dictates that U11 eligibility is from 9/06-9/05.

You can be 12 years old in U11. You guys are crazy about Duke Players. When the game film comes out everyone will know the truth. I spoke with a Duke parent and there were three 22's, 37,30 and 1. 30 and 1 were the two 22's that made the biggest impact. 30 was a killer on the faceoff causing them problems and number 1 was their strongest middie and had the most impact of the 22 players. He was able to shut down their biggest weapons on the bandits and required a double team every time he had the ball on offense. His speed made it a difficult challenge but the bandits managed as the rest of the Duke midfielders weren't nearly as strong. Good game by two good organizations and it was the highest level of U11 lacrosse in the world.

Those were the 22's that made biggest impact scoring clearing etc. let's be honest here as my son was a 2023 pushed aside for 22's. There were no rules broken but the truth is it was a large number of 2022 kids perhaps the above poster is speaking of LI kids and even that was 4/5. That said our coaches were honest from the start that there would be games kids would play a lot and some they wouldn't. No rules were broken and it was a game with sportsmanship and class. Happy New year

My son is born September 2004 and is a 2022. Stop with all the nonsense. He would have been eligible for this tournament. I don't see what is so hard to understand. If you were born after 6/04 you were eligible for this tournament U11. Lots of 2022's qualify for that.

Yes, you are right. In the normal world, typically a 2004 birthday is in 7th grade right now and on pace to graduate in 2022.
Problem is within the lax world, many clubs that have a 2022 graduation year team have kids on the roster born in 2002.

If you are a Dukes parent, you are miss informed. There were 3 2022's and only 3.

#30 FOGO, #1 DMId, #37 OMid. No one was pushed aside for anyone, but playing time is not always equal.

I agree people get so caught up with the age. I could careless if your kid is age appropriate or if he is a holdback. If he is on the opposing team you play your hardest and whatever the outcome is that's it move on to the next game. With that said I think if they made each birth year the requirement this would alleviate any issues parents have.

Ridiculous you loser! That's how kids are getting hurt. They're getting tee'd up on and head to head collisions occur. I bet you're happy your kid looks like he is good against 11 year olds. Go back to 2022.

I assume most confusion is because although it calls itself a U11 tournament, it is based on the your kids age classification as of August 2016 so many players were actually U12.

US Lacrosse Foundation has several sanctioned tournaments based on their "U" format. Not enough, but hopefully soon to be many more. They base the U age format, not on a calendar year, but a lacrosse year, 9/16-8/17, for this year.

Take it easy calling the guy a loser. In most states September 1, 2004 is considered 2023. New [lacrosse] is one of the few that is Dec. 1.Thats why even if they start doing age based tournaments the cutoff will be 9/1. Which is basically keeping it grade based minus the holdbacks.

Bandits posted a couple. Both NLF's and Naptown

Warriors are doing a few spring, both NLF's, NXT, Young Guns, and Lax Fest

Tornados are doing Playday (Md) and Blatant in the spring and NXT, TriStar Lax CLash, and fl$ Shootout.

S2S is doing the 1st NLF, Strong Island Classic, Lax CLash, Legacy Invitational, and Rhode Island Classic. Plus we're doing a trip to Md and PA in the spring.

That's all I can see so far.

That will once and finally end this debate and level the playing the field. I would be surprised if they adopt this. Or PAL and the towns can lead the way. But in my opinion and experience with PAL is that it is not well run at all amd town teams only exist for tourneys, not the PAL season.
