A poster 2 pages back mentioned that SWR may be moving down to the "C" division. If you check the Section XI website homepage it shows 'placements' for the 2016-17 boys lacrosse season that were approved on 10/13/16. There appears to be no more A/B/C divisions, just Div 1 and 2. All of the "C" teams have been moved up into Div 2. Anyone know if this is in fact the case? Thanks in advance.

You can not repeat a grade at St. A's for the heck of it, period. They are talking about doing it in 8th grade or earlier, before entry into St. A's or Chaminade. Like the Crush kids doing?

For the regular season A is in Division 1 and BCD are in Division 2. After year is over teams split to there respective divisions.

Was Port Washington as dominant as purported to be today at Hofstra? Pt. Washington forfeited their third game. Apparently they were not having a good day, so they chose to leave after their second game.

Was Port Washington as dominant as purported to be today at Hofstra? Do not believe they won a game. And got crushed on a couple. Not sure if they had a complete team but should not even be considered in the same universe as dominant. Far from it.

We had a roster of about 17 of 30 and played all 3 games. The boys did a great job despite the numbers and early 2017 season. Why need for hate and vineyard vines comments?! Hope you all enjoyed the rest of your Sunday . There's really no need to cause animosity

Port Washingtons Varsity went 2-1
JV went 1-2, and forefitted the 4th game.
Both teams had 14-18 players, due to many of their players playing with their clubs and attending various prospect days.
Regardless, it's November 6th.

I saw a couple of Port kids dressed and ready to go for their 3PM game... not sure who pulled them, i dont blame the kids. and it was their JV squad that forfeited. S*** happens just would have been nice to have a heads up earlier.

I have a question about allocation of the 12.6 scholarship. lets use a school like Fairfield or Villanova. ... if the recruiting class is comprised of say 10 recruits / commits. how much would each one expect to receive ball park? also, upon commitment is it a 4 yr commitment moneywise locked in for the player and school or is it renewable each year?

Athletic scholarships are renewed year to year. If your son or daughter is getting academic money, that is usually based on maintaining a certain gpa year to year. A coach can allocate his scholarships as he sees fit. He may offer more to a player who he has a positional need for or a stud that is highly recruited. Some kids may get nothing and they are happy with a roster spot because their parents may not need financial assistance. There are many different scenerios. Also, remember not all programs are fully funded so they don't have the full 12.6. There are many variables that determine how the coach handles his scholarship money.

The 12.6 is spread across the entire roster, not that recruiting year. The cash is allocated at the discretion of the head coach.

Great idea... Spend $25k at Friends... $40k at at Anthony's , plus $40k pg at prep school for the slim chance of 1/4 max athletic scholarship of $60k tuition...

Calm your t*tties Poster claimed Chaminade is the Harvard of LI HSs, I siimply referred to data that suggests it is far from that. Public education on LI rules! Also add CHS to the list. So many better public HSs options on LI than Cham and St. A can't even be brought into the discussion of best HSs at alll
