Thought Blaze team was the team stacked with talent without the 4 Crush kids ? That team should have been left alone, not the best business move on 91's part .shunning kids over to let crushers play , only to be beat up that bad... what a joke .. hope you blaze parents learn your lessons and stop walking around all arrogant that your the next crush team.. the 4 team li players should have stayed with the the group they originated from , they have been subjected to false hope and dreams

Igloo smokes the Blaze 11-4 Love to hear that! What happened to Jr.? Shut down at his own age group? nice to hear that Igloo is the clear #1! Looking forward to watching them take the ship in Denver! Our boys were clicking and Blaze was undisciplined. Our boys played great team lacroose and stayed out of the box won face offs and moved the ball. Team lacrosse wins! As far as JR goes he did a majority of their damage all day in the games I saw. Great player incredibly talented but goes to show that team chemistry wins Thought the event was well run and officiating suspect really looking forward to Denver. Go Igloo

Funny thing igloo has been playing w illegal kids for years. And Tony Bologna has allowed it. I don't like everything 91 is about either but the cheating that igloo has done has irked me Express and 91 are established products while igloo went from non profit to big money grab. No one wants to be involved with igloo not NLF OR the smaller Passport alliance. I wonder why ?! TA is laughed at by club directors passport alliance?? Thats a freaking joke. Not one competitive team left in it. ZERO. Big things coming forward. Hope igloo is apart of it all. Its coming. 91 cheats just as much as anyone, Crush took two 2019 holdbacks this year and already had a couple before that. Legacy has several holdbacks as well, sad part is none of these boys are standing out even playing down. Parents should be b8w2mhiding in embarrassment for good reason! And yes we are all talking about your reckless choices that have hurt your son's as well as the sport.

If you are going to rant about a team, know your facts. Exaggeration is never helpful in making a point. Now, I do agree with you that holdbacks ruin the sport for all, kid included. Lax needs to be regulated to continue to be a sport worth playing competitively.

The Two 2021 teams that changed drastically for WSYL was Legacy & 91.
The two teams that looked the same was Black Ice & Icon. Kudos to them for bringing their real 2021 teams.
No matter what the champion will still come from Long Island.

Now it's at least 4 that should be in 9th. Nothing different than what all the other clubs are doing. All have older kids, unfortunately that's just ghe way it is since there are no rules. Saw 4 crush kids on Blaze that were not able to do anything against Igloo. They are just a much better team.

Sept 1 should be the cutoff. NOT May 1. Icon, Igloo and Express only teams that went with same team. This was a 2021 tourney. Legacy was not age appropriate. It was a joke. They should be proud. Birth certificates mean nothing unless u have a photo ID that u are checking. Tournament was a joke. Should of been a check in tent to make sure kids names matched birth certificates. Great win Igloo. I could have sent in my younger sons birth certificate in and let my older son play. Nobody would know. It wasn't checked. It's all nonsense.

Why would anyone care - this was a grade based tourney last year w an age restriction. The WSYL changed the rules midway - extended the age range and dropped the grade requirement. Some team were already set. Others brought their 2021 teams - as was originally the rules during tryouts.
The only thing this effects is the credibility of WSYL. They should have waited a year. Or maybe they needed to change the rules midway because the turn out would have been poor.

Doesn't look like they are hurting for teams- seems like many are okay with new rules and even applaud the age restrictions. No where did it say that WSYL was going to align their rules with club try outs. It was up to each club to bring a team that fit the rules- period.

Actually the age requirement is exactly the same as it was last year. The thing that changed was last year it was 2020 teams. This year there is no graduation year attached so teams have been created just for this event. Which, in my opinion, will be the downfall of this. It is now nothing like the LLWS, which is an amazing long-running event!

(Although in recent years the age cut-off has changed, making it almost 13U. And of course there are always programs that try to game the age and residency rules) Not sure if a Town based tourney could ever work in lacrosse, but the with early WSYL qualifiers it 'forces' summer clubs to put together a spring team with a few practices. (Of course this doesn't affect the so-called 360 teams)

very disappointing how 91 has handled this and the unity of that team...kids were competing during Fall/Winter getting ready to move outside for the Spring to compete even more for spots on the rotation, and tourneys, etc...then this comes a long...picks a team a few wks right before the tourney and jams a few practices in with 4 crushers...in a tourney that really means nothing...some kids not picked, opt out, others go because they feel like they have to, others hardly play during games or practice, even ones playing more are effected as there is no continuity/flow in the team and their play...complete disaster and hearing crazy tension there...coaches arguing, defenders running midfield, middies running attack...am sure they will work hard between now and Denver and may even win it but it makes you wonder was it really worth it?

Congrats to Igloo who played great, it will be a good game against the Taz team if the face in Denver. Congrats to Icon who play their straight 2021 team and was the only team team to play Taz tough. Still was unable to figure out how they place three weak teams in one bracket and one weak team in the other. When I looked at the scores 91 and Igloo really only had one good against each other and Igloo must have played great.

Igloo beat Icon 4-3 last season ,so if Igloo and Taz face each other in Denver should be a good game. I know Igloo won big over the 91 but I still think 91 will we a difficult out in Denver, with the older kids.

Igloo 2021 v Legacy 2020 will be a great game if it happens. The great news is two of the NLF teams (91 and Express) couldn't get it done this past weekend.
We'll see if 91 tries to influence the brackets out in Denver to give 91 a remote chance of moving up in brackets. After all, WSYL is sponsored by Warrior. Warrior sponsors all the 91 events that are run with cronies from my lacrosse tournaments. Favors will be called in. Easy games will be set. And who knows, even a roster change under the table.
