You left DEast off your list…so you’re obviosly reasonable I don’t get it, they obviously can’t be that bad, you can only play the teams on your schedule, correct? Sure they have some close games but doesn’t everyone at this point?

This weeks game summary.- It’s Small this week. My other “hobbies” got in the way. LOL Add any information that could be interesting to the conversation.
Things noticed this week. The goal differentials in games is getting smaller. The idea that stronger teams are blowing out the weaker teams is not happening. Compared to previous years change is coming with team growth and development.
Hawks v. Team 91 - Did not watch. So what is going on with either Hawks or Team 91? Better yet, what is happening with Hawks? 6-5 going into the middle of the season. By now teams are either falling off or picking up the pace. I did not watch the game, however any insight would be appreciated for anyone that saw it. Curious to see how Team 91 and Preds play. Hawks will control the game with FCA. Won’t be blowout however hawks will control 95% of the game.
Legends v. Preds - As expected Legends won, but not sure if it was a dominant win with Preds scoring more goals than they have had in previous games. Great to see a game being played at USA Lacrosse. Great venue. Legends next level will be. A close game.
Madlax v. FCA - So FCA continues to slide. Would have never thought they would be 1 and 5. Very uncharacteristic. I understand the injury bug has plagued the team and continues to plaque them. The game was, as previous games had played out for FCA, with lack of offense and struggles in the defense. Madlax was consistent and organized on offense. Even though I saw little inventiveness that steered away from predictable play calling, Madlax was able to use their speed and discipline to work their way through FCA’s defense. Madlax’s defense was consistent with getting ground balls and forcing turn overs. The defense was able to shutdown passing lanes and use slides to make sure FCA could not penetrate towards the goal. Offensively FCA showed times when they caught Madlax’s defense off guard and was able to score, however this was overshadowed by their simple mistakes in ball movement and attaining ground balls. Defensively FCA still struggles with missing assignments and knowing where to be. Future success for FCA’s defense will be determined by an established clear defensive leader on the field. Madlax is where they should be at 4-1 with challenging game this week against TC. FCA will struggle with Hawks. However they are due for an upset win. Not sure if this will be it.
True Chesapeake v. Next Level - Didn’t watch it but was expecting it to closer then to was. Next level playsLegends and TC v. Madlax should be a good game. TC has a double header. The question is how two games in a day will affect each team especially one being at 8 pm.
Predictions
FCA Vs. Hawks - Hawks +5 Madlax Vs. TC - TC +1 Legends Vs Next Level - Next Level +1 Predators Red Vs. Team 91 - Team 91 +1 Team 91 Vs. TC - TC +4 Heard that something happened with the Hawks players and coach. Team was up 4-1 at the end of the first quarter and then many starters rode the bench for the rest of the game. Not sure if it was a punishment or simply getting depth players time. This weeks game summary.- It’s Small this week. My other “hobbies” got in the way. Sure, Rubeor left for Mass. to "take care of a family member."
That's the kind reason he gave Loyola admin when he resigned.
The truth is, he saw LB was a mess and didn't want to stay at there for all the other political reasons mentioned.
Once in MA he decided to take a full time gig coaching at Thayer and another gig coaching for the Atlas. All of this is smoke, results are all that matters: LB hasn't been a perennial lacrosse power since Steele Stanwick took them to 2 straight titles fifteen years ago. The Dons did win at title in 2013 from the 6th seed in a Cinderella story but haven't finished above 4th since then. Why did they fall back to the back? Its quite simple: They acknowledged too late that the world was actually round not flat. In other words, their then AD and HC failed (whether they tried or not depends on whom you ask) to recruit a critical mass of good enough lacrosse players to compete at the highest level on a regular basis. Then they compounded this mistake by failing to advocate to top college coaches for their better players. Regarding the recruitment topic, both the then AD openly voiced his opposition to then in infancy stage club movement. They compounded this "the world is flat" opinion by failing to match other schools, which began giving partial scholar athlete financial aid awards to 3-6 multi sport athletes per year. So imagine this: you're the parents of an eighth grader who has several acceptance letters some of which may have partial scholarships attached to them. Then you do a little research among some older parents in the lacrosse community and you find Coach X and ABC High School does a much better job marketing his players for scholarship offers and it makes the decision relatively easy assuming your son has comparable academic opportunities. Fast forward to Coach Rubeor, who is a very good recruiter, coach and college admissions advocate: He's a loyal Don Diego who wants to rebuild the Program but isn't given the tools to do so. No partial scholar athletic awards even for top notch academic kids who would be major contributors in multiple sports (2 or 3 for 1 like a Ryan Conrad). Then you have meddling parents who expect you to win consistently when the administration has tied your hands behind your back on the recruiting front. These same parents/Board members go to the Principal who starts meddling with your coaching staff decisions and you say adios, life is too short. Whether this departure happened to coincide with some life event that forced you to move, the fact of the matter was you were coaching at another institution shortly thereafter. Then the Principal hires an old friend from BL who was a decent AC at BL but who never got the LB Administration to buy into the required recruiting changes necessary to rebuild the Loyola program. His W/L progress was tepid at best hence the "unhappy parent" contingent had a voice and forced his departure. The new coach is a long time former AC at Malvern who didn't get the HC job at Malvern when it opened up. His father's family is in the HOF of LB athletic families. Contrary to some of the comments posted on this forum, his dad was a great DC at LB as well as at JHU. He then took WAC to a national championship in D3. Thereafter he was a good but not great HC at JHU whereafter he moved to the HC coaching job at his alma mater, UNC. I wouldn't say that's the background of a horrible coach but maybe of one of didn't keep up the everchanging HC job requirements in this modern age. The $64k question for the LB program is will Coach Haus be given the tools to recruit the best kids in the greater BW area so he can develop them with his staff? Why would you trust Haus to recruit kids when he’s shown no ability to properly evaluate the current kids on his roster? 1. Revolving door at goalie - the 2 goalies have failed to claim the spot and the 3rd goalie has gotten no opportunity to show what he can do. 2. Fogo is a mess. Kid who hasn’t seen the field all year finally gets a shot after Loyola loses the 1st 20 faceoffs and the kid wins one. Gets a shot against maybe the best fogo in the country but he can’t get an opportunity vs anyone else? 3. Why play with only 2 attackmen? The 3rd guy never even looks at the goal. A traffic cone could guard him. 4. 1st midfield has one guy who’s a threat. 2nd line has none. There’s how many guys on the roster? Close to 50 and Haus can’t find a 3rd attackman or 3 midfielders? Just look at the record - No wins vs any solid team. Haus is the HC, it’s on him. The season is over and he’s hasn’t addressed any of the holes on the team that were apparent from day one. Maybe they should have practiced in the fall and winter - like every other MIAA team. If St.Paul’s has watched any LB film they will win. Shut down 14 and LB will only be able to score 6 goals max. Ok, you made a good case for the cupboard being bare. LB and SP are a shadow of their former glory days. That's not the first year HC's fault. You can't coach a drastic shortage of talent in the A Conference and based on the film, there's not enough of it on Chestnut Avenue. How many top flight multi-sport athletes does LB lax have on the roster? Remember Ryan Conrad? Steele Stanwick? A handful of their teammates who were athletes first, lacrosse players second? No critical mass of high impact lacrosse players/multi sport athletic contributors since 2015. You have to give Haus at least 3 years for his recruits to begin making an impact. If he doesn't win the recruiting battle next Spring (when he's had time to assess the Area's talent), then it's probably time to worry. Until then relax and re-direct your energy towards the School's Administration who created this mess with their ill-advised strategies. I don't think anybody at Loyola can make the representation.....yet....that an elite multi-sport athlete within 60 minutes of Baltimore is best suited for Loyola, unless the campus culture (least liberal private school between Laurel and the DE/PA border) is a huge win for Mom and Dad. There are relatively few exceptional athletes in the 2024-2027 classes, and most of those excel in some other sport and are "capable" at lacrosse. That's where St. Paul's is different, Settembrino is building something that "appears to be" headed in the right direction over there, and there's lots of excitement about it. And no - definitely not talking about his ownership of Predators. He - also - has a couple years left to really deliver at SP, and this week's game against Loyola will be a test of how close he is.

Disgusting but more concerning is that although we signed a concussion waiver that we won't sue HoCo, there is no protocol and nothing was done. We all assume we are signing so we won't sue but we also expect a protocol as most bell rings present differently after a few hours. If you have a kid who has been through a concussion, you know they all look different. It doesn't matter if he/she says they are ok when asked. It's not up to them! You are the responsible Coach and officials. I'm curious how the league responded and more importantly, if the FCA and DCE players are ok. The FCA Coach and program should review the hits and the play and address why players returned to the game. in football, the coach and targeting player are suspended for at least 1 game. There is zero tolerance for this avoidable behavior. Complaining about coaches and reclass is ridiculous in itself, but there should be no support of the FCA coach or player who targeted the DCE player. I have never… EVER…. read such consensus on BOTC. My question is, does the HoCo league even KNOW about this entire exchange that occurred on the field? The video is very damning. I’m not party to this game, don’t have a kid involved— otherwise, I’d be inclined to say something to HoCo officials. Maybe I should feel greater obligation to do so, considering it could be my kid next week. Frankly, I wouldn’t know who to contact, but hopefully some members of either DCE or FCA teams will ask / have asked them to review.

Coppemine did what Hero's couldn't do!! Anyone want to talk about that! Even with all the additional players. what does additional players mean? did one of the teams expand their rosters or something? Think this is pointing to Heros taking CM top players last tryout and some others. They are a collection of talent with a big roster. Not sure if ‘take’ is the right word there. You can’t take players, they have to want to leave for one reason or another.

Top end D3 significantly may be better fit than D2 and bottom half D1 depending on the player. Completely disagree. Unless your son is going to a NESCAC. And yes, low D1 can be tough, but high D2 is serious lacrosse. Go watch the Adelphi v Bentley game today. Academics are average to below average at most D-2 schools Agreed. And there are a ton of great academic D3's in addition to the NESCAC schools - Swarthmore, Babson, MIT, Washington & Lee, etc.

How is a 2029 parent allowed to referee in the 2029 NGLL games of the same exact league where their daughters compete? Do we really not have regulations to control for this? John Brock, parent of twins on 2029 M&D black, was the referee for the Coppermine black vs Skywalkers game today. At least 2 girls from M&D black 2029 last year now play for skywalkers. This is not just an issue of bias but intimidation can come into play in situations like this as well. Does the NGLl not have regulations to control for this? What other games has he reffed for in our league? Same thing happening at the 2028 level. Reffing games against team that had previously cut the daughter. Not sure why this would be allowed when there are so many NGLL games happening across age levels. This kind of thing should not be allowed. Is a parent really allowed to ref a game within their own child’s league? I think this calls all results into question if this is allowed. That’s ridiculous. The results of that game would be no different with another referee.

Be glad your kid didnt have TC as coach. Since she has left, the toxic culture is much improved and the girls are enjoying it!!!! You’re kidding right? There’s more toxicity than ever, there’s more getting thrown under the rug than ever. TC at least had control of her team. New coach has no backbone and because of it, the camaraderie is nil. Don’t fool yourselves, four players run the team and are the reason they win. One of them is now done for the season. One of them should have been expelled from school four times over. It would be a gift to the team for TC to come back at this point, and I say that without liking the woman. But she is better than what is going on now. Spot on. Last year was a love fest compared to how things are this year. Why don’t you transfer to a school where your daughter will actually get play time rather than complain about the girls that are committed to play in college. Or who have had an injury. You are throwing the team captains under the bus for not having leadership skills to bring the team together. Just stop your whining and attacking of teenagers. Mcd girls throw the best parties. Can’t miss them!

Anyone notice the Circuit "All America" selections.... more absurdity.
Nationals take 6 of the 14 positions despite having 4 scorers in the top 14. Meanwhile, Rebels has has the #1 and #5 scorers yet they weren't selected.
Kids who ranked in the 20's in scoring were picked due to name recognition. I'm not saying the Rebels players shouldn't have been selected but the team was 3-7. I don't think it's uncommon for players from a team well below .500 to not be picked. Totaling a point against against RH and Nationals doesn't help their case. Lastly, scoring is probably not the right metric to evaluate the LSM, defenseman and goalie from Nationals (3 of the 6 players selected.) By that criteria, how do you justify only 2 Red Hots players being selected despite being undefeated and the #1 seed, yet Nationals has 6 players selected. My any objective criteria, I don't know how you name a midfielder who is #21 in points on the 3rd ranked team over the top points producer in the entire league regardless of his team's standing.

Show me an IAAM team and I'll show you whiny, entitled parents. "But it is the schools fault, or the coaches fault, or the other kids on the team's fault, or the other parents on the team's fault, or the personal trainer you pay for's fault". It is never the parents fault! bahahahahahahaa! You do realize that you are whining about other people whining and also exposing your own bitter insecurities right? I guess its also possible that this was written by a child, You see something you don't have so you ridicule. Got it

Thanks, Mother Theresa. The point of this site is for people to come on here and complain about what they think is wrong. Sounds like your kid is on the bottom half of a B team roster, and you are disgruntled that picking daisies between whistles is his favorite pastime. Outside of Rebel parents nobody on here thinks their kid is going D1 or getting money. We all enjoy watching our kids, but it's good to keep the competitive juices flowing among adults. Enjoy the bouquet your kid picked for Mother's Day.

Lastly, scoring is probably not the right metric to evaluate the LSM, defenseman and goalie from Nationals (3 of the 6 players selected.)

There are other good teams looking for a 2029 goalie. Please post leads Your son is a 30’, he should play with his peers. Not sure he’d see time there either, goalies have to move stick.
