"Why stop there? it also says the "Yellow Jackets are a "SELECT LACROSSE CLUB" looking for the BEST players from Long Island!! which strongly implies player cuts. The yellow jackets cut probably less than 5% of all kids, they just keep making additional teams"
The Yellow Jackets still have much better coaching as a whole than any other club on Long Island and would stack their coaches up against any on a national level. As far as Elite players , there is no comparison with any other club on Long Island. TG still 2nd best but the gap has gotten worse. There is not one age group that a reasonable argument can be made that TG top team beats YJ top team. Its comical how the Select makes you so angry.Smart move by TG taking their coaches bios down from the web site, those things were an embarrassment.
You are comparing a program that has been around for 5 years to a program that has been around for a lot longer. TG can not compare to YJ but they haven't done badly for the short time they have been around. Their coaching can not compare to YJ but again, they are new. Good coaching has to start somewhere. Not everyone is born with coaching experience. The "select"term is funny if you have 5 teams for every age group. How select are you really being? The coaching at TG will never be good because the philosophy is broken. My girls teams have been an ever changing carousel of college girls who really know zero about coaching. None of the coaches ever take pride or ownership of a team, not around to train with team or even practice with them. They had one coach in the entire organization who broke out of the mold, it was the one bright spot of the organization. The guy was into it over and above just showing up like the college girls. TGs don't like the people they can't fully control so he is gone and they will likely never let another quality coach in. Watch the team coaches for every team year to year, it will have your head spinning.

Problem is your club took a step back in terms of ability this off season and you lost many of your best young players. If the talent pool keeps getting drained by YJ you will struggle to keep any water in the pool at all.

When in the world are the rosters being posted? It's been over a month. Usually after all age groups have finished tryouts so you are looking at middle of December.

This is really simple, seems like folks look for any reason to take a shot at the champ. The top team and sometimes even the second team in each age group are as select as you can find in the country. The fact that over the years more and more kids keep coming has led to 4 and 5 teams but certainly did not start that way.

It was never done that way in the past, rosters were posted and then you had until the first week in January to pay or lose your roster spot, this is something new

There might be a few changes, but not many!

Only club that does it this long This is the first time any one has been officially notified before the rosters were posted. Not that they didn't know already! Notifying just the blue teams Is a slap in the face to every other kid in the organization, shows u how much she really cares about anyone else.

There might be a few changes, but not many! How do they know after tryouts You must be new, most girls know where they are being placed the following summer because they are told. Girls not YJ were told they were on teams before tryouts even happened. I heard first hand girls offered spots has early has this past July. Tryouts are just smoke and mirrors.
