No fall or winter league for TG, too bad. The girls enjoyed playing competition last year. Now we will simply have team practices at the expense of an additional $125. Sounds like they are ducking the other clubs or don't have enough kids on many of the teams to field teams so they will just have mixed age practices or tell people kids just aren't coming to practice to hide the low numbers. That should buy them time to get full teams by summer. Still no rosters.

super smart move by tg to have fall and winter team skill practices...and at $125 for 8 practices super cheap and adding some speed training into the mix...ask any college coach ..most important trait they are looking for is a skilled player period! I think it fantastic, Skills and speed and agility, TG is stepping it up. Way better then playing town teams 26-0. Winter leagues are a joke. I'd rather have the training.

Allows them to hide the fact they don't have enough kids as they don't need to field teams for games - now they can just say - ohhh a lot if kids didn't show up to practice - not an issue on black - but issue on purple and especially white.

It's 7 on 7 people. You don't need full rosters for that crap! 10 girls and you're good. They aren't hiding small rosters. They actually listened to all the parents that complained about it last year. Just keep stirring the pot!

At sports hub they play with 10 or 11 and for 8th grade up they have full field with full teams which means you need at least 16 kids when a few don't show each week and a few subs - so you do need a fair amount of kids at that venue.

The Hub league was a total horror and waste of time, schedules constantly changing, teams not showing - we won't miss that at all

Has Sports Hub changed its layout? Because two years ago it was three (I think) small fields. It's also in Syosset, not ideal for a Suffolk team.

Speed and agility is something you are born with? Really? I guess track and field athletes don't have to train at all, right? I coach track and that is half of our practices. Some girls are gifted athletes, but speed and agility drills are what training is all about, regardless of sport. Elevate had a pre-tryout clinic . . . $100 a day for 3 hours by the way . . . and the first hour was on agility drills. In my honest opinion, younger girls rarely stretch enough - or at all - before practices. I agree that 7v7 is all about one or two girls "going to the net."

They open up the two fields for 8th grade and up - so yes it is 100 yards long - not as wide as outdoor but definitely gets them running

That is correct, you can train a very slow kid to be a little less slow, you can train a very fast kid to be a little bit faster. Conditioning will help them reach their potential but you will never turn the very slow kid into the fastest kid, sorry they are what they are, born with it.

I for one could not be happier with this addition of team practices. gives the teams more time to gel I also welcome the idea of not jackassing to Mount Sinai for my daughter to play games with a mixed team. This was a smart move by top guns and I think it will be beneficial in the long run.

TG tried this during 1st Winter Session last year in Hauppauge. 30 minutes of drills then scrimmages. Just chose up teams and played. It was ok. Nothing great, nothing terrible. Coached by Shannon and Hofstra players. I was there for the 2015s so not sure how it went for younger ages.

All things considered TG is still a relatively new club ( this is the 5th year ) I give them credit for trying something new this year. lets wait and see how this compares to what was offered last year before we start to bash the club. Keep drinking the TG Kook Aid What "Kook Aid" am I drinking? My daughter has been on TG for more than a season, she is very happy with her team and the relationships and friendships she has made, her coaches; she admires Shannon and all she has accomplished as both a player and coach. Do I give up on this because of some animosity from some other folks, some of which will either never be happy or have a delusional expectation of what travel lax is about in 2014? Or critics from another club who have really no idea what TG do or don’t do based on rumors or anonymous posts here? She even likes Bill and thinks Andrew is cute. I’m happy she is getting what she wants out of it. Can you say the same where ever you are?

Do you really think Bill goes on here, and writes stuff like that? If Bill wrote on here, it would look nothing like that. Also, Andrew doesn't give a crap what you dopes think. Shows how you little you know about the Smiths.

You would have been jackassing (whatever that means) to Calverton this year - Inline is turning into a trampoline place. That term has never been used in ur presence?? And I know coastal was first session mt Sinai was 2nd session. And either way I'm still happy They've had stuff at that place in Hauppauge, I'm blanking on the name but the location was good. Our school team plays at out Calverton, it's not my favorite venue.

Thanks Bill hmmmmm or Andrew??? Yeah right! Do you really think Bill goes on here, and writes stuff like that? If Bill wrote on here, it would look nothing like that. Also, Andrew doesn't give a crap what you dopes think. Shows how you little you know about the Smiths. Hard for andrew to care while he is taking a nap and sleeping off the late night

Sorry TG, was fun while it lasted but too many fleeing the ranks. I actually feel bad for BS which is not an easy thing to do.

Are there any A level teams left at TG ? 2021 B level but may develope, 2020 is now B level, 2019 B level and now I hear the kid BS begged to stay is begging to play YJ, 2018 has always been and will continue to be B level, 2017 below YJ and Elevate so let's go w B level, 2016 still B level never made it into that upper level as they were never able to actually win a tournament , 2015 same as 2016 and now missing the only descent coach . The good news is there will be less animosity between you guys and YJ as they no longer consider you a threat and you no longer consider yourselves their rival .Sad really as it was fun watching your club put a little scare in YJ until CR decided to end it .

TG is now irrelevant in 2020 The good news is now all these parents that were on here saying that it's been a team effort and not run thru one kid get a chance to prove it . I heard the kid left because they got tired of carrying the team to victories and hearing all the bitching about the kid being a ball hog .

So the TG team has been cut down by the relentless poaching. Parents make the best choice for their kids. Don't concern yourself with us. We will be just fine with girls that can compete and parents that have class. Really??? Jump to yj a program that dessimated and then cannabalized its own team and girls to become the uber lax team.... To do what??? Take over the world?? Enjoy your daughter's childhood summer days as you battle through the back biting, insults and being out maneuvered by them all. Girls that are coming are great. Good kids and GREAT lax players. Someone's got to go? Will it be your child? There is no solidarity in that club. It's all about the "me!" Tough mentality in a team sport. Have fun storming the castle as you each maneuver to cut another down. Just be sure that when you step on their backs, they stay face down so they don't know who it came from.

I think YJ will now be the club where all the best Long Island players go to prove themselves, will be interesting how it works out.To be on top YJ team will now mean something more so than ever before and more so than any other club on Long Island.
