Ty is just a little lax enthusiast with a blog following. Those that can play do play. Those that can't play end up writing about it and pander to those who will help prop up his self manufactured status built off of kids who can play. Anyone who cares to can follow the best teams and write about the great players. No skills needed there, but his apparent external influences have tarnished any possible small credibility he may have had.

So who is he working for now exactly?

Man, then according to you this basketball kid dynamo is a bum and not credible. Talking out of your kiester it seems:

Everybody's speculation will probably turn out to be mostly false anyway, who knows what Xandersis up to. A lot of people putting down him (or old employers IL in general) Munro, Danehy, Reed, etc without knowing them in person but wanting to take away from their reputation, knowledge or connections just because little anthony (who almost made the long island showcase, guys!!!! i swear he's good!) wasn't invited to a top event, ranked on 3d's list of 2017 michigan recruits (oh, and other players @RPDLacrosse watched at showtime/3d events/blue chip) or in Inside Lacrosse's top 50 rankings.

You all are relentless. I understand he's controversial - though probably made out to be more than he actually is in reality - but he's passionate and actually does a rather good with the rankings. Can't make everyone happy and probably missed some names but that's gonna happen to anyone.

He gave up lacrosse after his freshman year but followed his volleyball passion for his entire high school career. He then 'left' the academically-rigorous Lynchburg College after one year. Seems to be long on opinions, short on accomplishments.

Lets stick with the facts when it comes to evaluating the accuracy of what Ty does. It's easy to find past rankings of kids and to then follow forward their college productivity to determine whether those kids pretty much worked out as Ty had ranked them or were non factors in college. Not sure what we'll find but my guess is probably a relatively equal distribution of hits and misses and a bunch that developed into stars that were ranked low or not at all. I'd also imagine that outside the top 10 the volatility of actual performance increases exponentially. Not an easy job for anybody even if Ty had more field experience but I think as a journalist looking for page views and awareness, mission accomplished in a very big way. What I like best about him and which is part of his genius is that he is never overtly critical - always positive. Like Mom always said, if you don't have something nice to say, don't say anything. Ty has that down to a tee.

Lacrosse is a strange world. Everyone hangs on the pronouncements of a non-lacrosse playing college dropout turned kingmaker, and a multi-millionaire ex-lax coach whose biggest accomplishment was turning a terrible team into an okay team who chased out because his players were out of control and didn't want to play for him.

3596 HS Varsity teams times lets say 25 man rosters = just under 90,000 lax players. If a quarter of those kids play club you then have 22,500 kids to evaluate. Split them into Juniors and Seniors and you have over 11,000 players at each age group to evaluate for your top 50 list.

Even if you cut this list in half thats 5,500 kids looking to make the list.

I would say Ty does an excellent job of finding talent and evaluating them. Yes some fall through the cracks cause they dont play on high end travel teams or dont go to the right showcases.

I was more referring to the fact that you called him a multi-millionaire. This is lacrosse, how many people are truly making millions?

The are referring to a certain former D-1 coach out west who has turned the neglected non-hot beds training/club scene into a moneymaker.

You were going just fine until you used the word genius in your decription description of Ty Xanders. He is entertaining and seems to enjoy what he does. But no one cares about these rankings. There are so many college all Americans that are never ranked in high school. Of course he misses some kids. He misses hundreds. The missed kids might be better off without all the attention. He can't be everywhere, he goes to select tournaments, listens to what a few select people tell him. But it's meaningless. The one thing it could be is much more objective you could take the kids that go to the top showcases who make the All-Star teams and the MVPs over each year not just most recent summer circuit. That would be a start. But it is really not worth the time. If it was someone else would be doing it.

No one cares about high school lacrosse rankings . Your kids Rank in SCHOOL iis want really matters. And the only lacrosse ranking that matters is your college coach's ranking and your place on the team

Some kids get a big % offer but most can't get much. 12.6 is all they have to give out.

So if the coach has 12.6 and 48 players each get about 1/4. If he has some geniuses he gives nothing to those kids because they can get more just academic, and if has some very rich kids he makes them pay full-frieght so daddy can brag that junior plays D1 lax. If a parent can pay for ING let's assume they can pay tuition. Simple math says you can make it work depending on how much they want the player.

Have you ever thought of the fact that maybe Ty was just getting names of kids to focus on and watch? Insane interpretation on your end, big dawg!

I don't think IL would have ever let him take money from club teams like it was suggested earlier, especially considering their new events business they've established (yeah right) to take over the summer and fall circuit.

I wouldn't think parents would hold kids back so they could maybe play D1 lacrosse at a crappy school.

I wouldn't think parents would pay $50K + to send a kid to a prep school so maybe he could play D!.

I wouldn't think coaches would put ringers on teams so they would win.

I wouldn't think club coaches would make a promise to a kid he was going to be on a national team only to pay a hefty fee and ride the bench on the local team.

I wouldn't think…….blah blah blah.

In the sport's current climate, I WOULD think that would all of happen. Bad point to try and throw a kid under the bus. I'm sure he knows that he can't always be right but I think you're way off base.

Ty Xanders is not controversial, he isn't relevant or revered enough to be. Its so funny, a great sport with amazing tradition, a sport with super talented kids having fun playing!
And many of these kids moms & dads are upper class wealthy successful intelligent people who went to outstanding schools with now great careers! Big giant homes, fancy expensive cars, multiple homes & impressive lifestyles!

But yet, a kid who tweets about his excitement to go see "Bassnectar" in concert at Madison Square Garden is able to consume your lives! For some reason he has a "voice" and a couple of dads behind him.

Its nuts.

Karma is a b*tch; as they say, Isnt it Ty?

The curtain has been pulled back and the troll pulling the levers of influence over you has been revealed. The facade being lifted once and for all.

Pretty much puts a wet blanket on your plans to continue to "write" and become both an ambassador for the sport and a potential spokesman for the company that hired you.

Nonetheless, you had a good run.

Now be gone.

No one needs to LOOK for a reason to BASH Ty, he bashes himself constantly with out even knowing it. He's immature and not qualifited for the role he had with IL. I have no reason to be jealous of anyone, but I think many of us have a problem with someone promoting DRINKING that is writing/covering about underage kids.

As far as your stupid [lacrosse] comment about red cups at college visits, speaks volumes of the type of parent you are.

BTW- why are you assuming that anyone who knocks Ty Xanders that it means their kid wasn't ranked? ? Should I respect or agree with Ty's role in the lacrosse community just because he ranked my kid? NO, I dont! Its called MORALS.

Quint K, Paul Carc, Chris Mortensen (NFL), Peter King (SI), Buster Olney (MLB), Adan Schefter (NFL)- I doubt any of these top sports analyst/reporters would come off as immature on social media or act a fool. Lacrosse is GROWING, we need the men covering the sport to be mature credible professionals.

If only there were more mature, credible professionals in every walk of life.
