thanks..heard that they went thru some tough times in last few years on girls side....good people running the show also...but idea that they have only one team at each level on girls is positive, right?

Only one team because it's so bad. Can't field more than one.

fl$ only has one team too and they are equally as bad. Put your daughter in the right position to succeed in a Girl's only program. Pick one where the girls are truly treated the right way.

If your daughter is planning on going to St Anthony's HS then it's probably worth a shot

Not so sure about that.It makes ya think, what kind of school could St. Anthonys be?

Best school on the Island.

So true. Track record of amazing college placements can't be touched. 2nd to none.

No need to wonder, "what kind of school could St.Anthony's be". Answer is below-

St. Anthony's BOYS committed NCAA Programs-

2015-
2 to Boston U (D1)
Penn (D1)
Hopkins (D1)
UMASS (D1)
Army (D1)
Lafayette (D1)
Quinnipac (D1)
Richmond (D1)
High Point (D1)
Wash & Lee (D3)
Sacred heart (D1)
Mt St. Mary (D1)
2 to Tampa (D2)

2016-
Army (D1)
Villanova (D1)
Michigan (D1)
2 to Hofstra (D1)
High Point (D1)
Furman (D1)
Dartmouth (D1)

2017-
Bucknell (D1)
PENN (D1)

Looks like 22 current players at St.Anthony's going D1 lacrosse, pretty impressive list of schools thus far. I hope this info helps your wondering of SA.

Aside from athletic commitments just academic placements alone are amazing at St A's. Anybody who doesn't think St A's isn't the best school on LI is. crazy.

Not a lot of top level schools listed there, definitely not worth going private to get into most of those schools. Not impressive!

These are all VERBAL COMMITMENTS until NLI is signed. No money is discussed for anyone who isn't a SR. ST A's is a great school without a doubt but only so many get into each school from each HS. So you are competing against the smart kids and the Athletes to get into your dream school . Express girls program on other hand is a slow motion train wreck, stay away. Heard a Coach with a good team just bolted to 91, another girls program that is dying. Choose wisely and remember who you are going to be spending 6 summer weekend with!

Post the "many publics". Post the colleges they are committed to and how many per grad class. PLEASE post them here. And also tell me the "8 you would brag about" on this impressive list of student athletes at St.As.

Put up or shut up. On behalf of SAHS, we put up. Now its you turn.

1: Go on the GIRLS site to talk GIRLS lacrosse.
2: Money IS (and has been) discussed. FACT.
3: Do your homework on the lacrosse recruiting seen.
4: Sorry you kid isn't being recruited yet.
5: If your kid WAS being recruited you wouldn't say what you said.
6: Have a good night.

Both Chaminade & SA list are very impressive. Publics are catching up rapidly!

Interesting you said,
"Go Fylers or Go Home"?
I think your classy boys have another saying you shouldve shared, "FTF"?

Stands for "F#*K THE FRIARS"?

That's what those good GOD fearing boys say towards SA.
Do they learn that in the Chapel?

St. A's -- great sports, POOR academics. I know a number of parents that teach there who say they'd never send their kids there. Their latest ploy to improve their test scores and academic rankings is a massive push for foreirgn exchange students. I wonder if the foreigners will know that they pray in a three point stance there... Unless you are in a very weak public district, you are better off staying there.

You clearly have no clue about this school and their academics. The teachers are excellent and the public schools don't compare when it comes to the diversity of advanced class offerings. My kids went to public school through middle school in a very good school district. They went to St. A's in high school and excelled academically. My oldest are in top colleges now and they didn't get there because of athletics. They got there because of a great education, hard word and coming from St. A's actually helped them when it came to college admissions. We still have one at St. A's and there are even more academic options now than before. The academic bar is higher there all around, with 75 as the passing grade.

Yes, it is possible to have great athletics and high academic standards. People tend to think St. A's is only about athletics because they're so good at it. The push for international students isn't to boost their test scores. I guess you think international students are smarter than students here??? That's ridiculous. The idea is to have a diverse student body and for kids to benefit from the interaction with students from all over the world.

We have the same Catholic vs public school debate about with the same frequency as the hold back debate. Let's all disagree and move on. Was out at express practice yesterday and those Terps look awesome.

Glad its working out for you. My guess is that it has more to do with the motivation and discipline of your children than the insitution though. My comment re the exchange students comes straight from an administrator at your school; yes they can present it as a diversity push--the truth is to improve the academic profile of the student body.

Obviously you are new to lacrosse. There is no such thing as a "full ride" in lax. But guarentee most if not all of those Chammy kids got "full ride" academic scholorships.

Well there is another reason for St. A's to be actively soliciting wealthy Asian exchange students--they pay double--which should help address the fiscal predicatment our Franciscan brothers have gotten us into due to over expansion and unfufilled pledges froma few years back-both large and small. At least they realize the academic infrastructure and resources need to catch up to the athletic.

Check out schools like ward Melville, smithtown east, garden city, sachem north for some impressive commits. Think SE is doing much better at the sophomore year currently with 2 Ivies, and 3 other high level schools.

not MY "classy boys" - I am a huge fan of Chaminade but do not send my sons there. I am a public school guy all the way, I posted that as a rebuttal to the silly post that St A was the top school on LI, it is not even the top school on Wolf Hill Rd.

Hey, some knucklehead is suggesting a 2025 team. Please tell me this is a joke! After the poor job and bad experience the 2024 team had last year wouldn't it be a shame to do it again to more trusting families.

Please say it is just a sick joke.

That's crazy. Look at Schrieber and Chanenchuck getting into Princeton and im sure dozens of others going to IVys from St A's. No matter how good of a lax player you are, Princeton does not bend it's academic hurdle so much that they set these kids up for being academically ineligible to play. That wouldnt be helpful to ether the coach or the kid.

Why would you answer them. They don't have a kid(s) that go there (I do) why bother entertaining somebody as totally clueless as there are. All my kids are fortunate enough where as I can send them to Catholic school and we constantly run into the public schoolers who feel compelled to knock down private school. You all know the type.. One piece of bad press comes out about a school, they feel compelled to forward it or post it on some social media site - as to see SEE! Drop it, it is exhausting.

The Terps are the A team so what level team is team 2? B or C? In past years the express has had a few low level C teams at the 2017 age.

I've heard this time and time again and it makes me cringe. Where do you people get off bashing St A's academics? Exactly on what basis do you make these assessments? Innuendo and hearsay but I never see any facts to back it up. Because grade inflation is rampant everywhere, the great equalizer is SAT and ACT scores. I'd like to see the standardized test scores of St A's students up against any other school on the Island.

Ok, so I an a public school teacher who tutors St. Anthony's kids. I can tell you that their curriculum is horrendous and they are not learning what they should be. I am literally embarrassed for their teachers. If you only knew what goes on there, you would never pay to send your kids. This comes from the horses mouth. A lot of smoke and mirrors!

Did this poster just say that kids choose St A's over Chaminade because of the better education?? That is such a ridiculous comment. The test scores required to get into Chaminade are significantly higher than the scores for St A's. St A's is a great school but this poster has absolutely NO Idea of the truth.
