Yes, he was an insane maniac and his act has run its course at a conservative private.

With NHSLS coming up soon, is it too early to start talking about the upcoming 2025 MIAA season? Will McD 4-peat? Will AS continue their ascension? I hear Calvert Hall is looking good in their workouts...

No clue. But in the MIAA it is usually one or a combo of:

School politics
Coaches backstabbing
Burnout
Record going in the crapper
Parental meddling

2 and 3 can switch depending on your High School. This is a MD MIAA centered , so HS is more .
Prospect days are useless to get recruited except at lower D2 and D3 .

Poor poor leadership at the school. Never hire the best person for the job. It’s always a former alumni that’s get the job. Whether it’s a coaching job, teacher or president of the school always an alumni hire. It’s finally caught up to the school. Throw in a admissions director that’s clueless about sports and selling the school makes for a perfect dumpster fire now. Lacrosse team will never recover and be in the B division soon enough. Spalding is the top dog now in Annapolis.

Decisions by SM admin in the past year needs to be studied. fool power hungry people who don't know what they're doing. Starts with an interim principal who who flipped because his freshman son was on JV and not Varsity.

This. Always alumni look at the coaching staff they have in 2025. Same staff as 2024 besides HC. When will the man in the shadows, #40 BB, step away from the program? Even with his kids in college now, he's still pulling all the strings. SM will soon be bumped down to the B conference.

Spalding is in Glen Burnie, not Annapolis.

AACo is AACo, no matter what city.

Both might be in the same county, but they are worlds away.

Spalding is the top dog in Annapolis when it comes to recruiting now. That ship has sailed for St Mary’s. All the top kids are going to Spalding now.

But the Prostart kids are flooding the hallways of SM. Unreal talent! Lol, if I was growing up in AACO right now, Spalding is the place to be.

The public school across the street is much nicer and free. Nicest schools, fields, venues, etc.....McDonogh, Loyola, Gilman and St. Paul's.

What do you mean, St. Mary's with their one turf field isn't nice? Athletic facilities holding them back way too much. Holding them back almost as much as new coach.

They have 1.5 fields now. Get it right.

Can’t beat sitting on the hill at a Gilman watching the teams play on a beautiful natural turf field!!

what were the outcomes of NHSLS, seems like its now becoming a money grab based on some of the competition I saw.

Definitely did not feel like a money grab from my perspective. I watched Spalding play Haverford during some down time and that game had every college coach/scout under the sun on the sideline and the game itself was very physical (maybe even got a little too heated at times, lots of penalties) clearly the game meant a lot to the players and coaches.

And pretty much the same teams that have been coming to this thing for years.

The difference is the massive HS programs are now sending 2-3 "Varsity" teams instead of one V and JV squad. Schools like Calvert Hall and Boys Latin want to get the kids who wont play in the spring to get some scrimmage time. Otherwise those kids don't get any film with their HS teams.

Heck even a usually strong Hill Academy split their boys up between 3 "Varsity" teams and got kicked around.

I heard some programs won't let players who are already committed participate to ensure depth players get looks and time. Have you heard of this? Is it common practice?

I’m not a St. Mary’s parent nor a fan but give it a rest. It’s fall ball. A lot of those schools have some of their committed players playing. A ton of kids are hurt. Good Lord.

Nothing matters until the spring NHSLS is great but most good teams use it to play all their kids so they get looks. Spring is totally different.
