Express definitely challenges themselves, venom doesn’t. I think Surge now Tritons, played a more difficult schedule last year

Good morning! Looking for some suggestions/advice on showcases. Saw it on the old thread. As we all having kids entering 10th grade next year, I was always told that's the time to enter some showcases/camps, etc. 1) are there any that you'd recommend? 2) are they worth it? 3) do specific colleges offer camps for kids who may be interested in attending their schools? 4) is it necessary?

What I’m saying is they brought in a couple of new coaches, and THATS why the team is playing better. Gotta lot of rocket scientists on this board, huh? Players weren’t the problem last year. They had a great Fall season then many of the starters including the faceoff guy got hurt. Couldn’t win a faceoff the rest of the year, impossible to win when you can’t get possession and on top of that you have a short bench.

Express definitely challenges themselves, venom doesn’t. I think Surge now Tritons, played a more difficult schedule last year Agreed, 91 worries too much about rankings of their top teams so they pick and choose tournaments where they can influence their schedule more. Coach C will put Express up against anyone at anytime, he may hurt your wallet while doing that though.

Speak to the coaches, directors, or owners of your son’s club team, as well as his high school coach. The advice should be better than you will receive here.

Let me say this in my opinion and experience. Do not go at this age. Don’t justify it by saying “hey just want me son to get experience at a showcase”… just not worth until the end of 10th grade.

Venom went to NAL, NLF, and Tri-star - the 3 best tourneys. Not a 91 fan, but let's be fair.

Yes except Venom played weak teams in first round of NAL and NLF. Just look at this weekend NLF 17-0 great game beat up on D Level team.

Take a look at the 27 board. Pertains to what is being talked about here.
“ Very simple . 91 Machine controls.the NLF, should be renamed ninety one lacrosse federation....so they put themselves up against weak competition. They also pulled out of the NAL last week because they can't control anything there and they went 0-3 last fall . Sad but true”
91 curates their schedule at every level to get W’s and help recruiting and rankings. Heck the guy running the USCL rankings worked for 91!

100% not a S2S dad. I've got a couple of friends with kids on the team. They know it was an easy fall schedule, hoping the new D coach (who is awesome, supposedly) can help elevate this team. Parents seem happy with the new kids they picked up, especially the goalie.

Trust me-54’s dad doesn’t know what an iPhone is let alone this site.
Does S2S have many reclasses? Yes Which LI team has the most ? Chucks Team 91 Chaos (2029) about to add a bunch! Huge Chucks attackman and defensemen, goalie. DEF! Sorry only the defenseman and Goalie. Don’t act like 91 don’t have reclasses Only lol Is that counting the city kids who are a year older? Express, 91, S2S are becoming as bad as the out of state programs with holdbacks. Was only a matter of time And all on those teams that have complained about it in the past will now remain quiet as long as they are winning. Unless they take their sons spot!

So if a parent chooses to holdback their child, which is their business and nobody else’s to mainly to increase opportunities for lacrosse and recruitment for their son. What does that have to do with the clubs???? Are they supposed to say no…we don’t want you because you’re a reclass? C’mon get over it. And I understand the frustration if this impacts a roster and playing time, and seems unfair, but it is not cheating, just part of the travel lacrosse. Just go to another club and be happy. Because at the end of the day it’s about your son and putting him the best situation to succeed. I say this because if holdbacks bother you…wait…if your son plays in college - the transfer portal is far more frustrating. Imagine working your @ChillLaxin off and it’s your time and bang incomes a transfer senior year.

If it’s wrong it’s wrong across the board. You don’t need to act like it’s not a big deal just because it doesn’t affect your kid, plus there are fewer and fewer teams without reclasses. Use your voice and complain to the clubs and to the high school teams and USLacrosse and anyone who will listen, that is how you will affect change.

I think what people are talking about are some clubs are pushing some kids to reclass. Express seems to do this more than 91 but 91 does it as well.

You really taught a lesson to the parents who actually care about rankings. Now can you address the parents who care about reclasses for the right reason? That reason being recruitment. You mentioned working your @ChillLaxin off and dealing with transfers. How about working your @ChillLaxin off and dealing with kids whose parents held them back for one reason and one reason only. You can’t admit frustration with transfers and dismiss the anti holdback parent. It’s quite hypocritical. So don’t tell us to get over it because apparently you aren’t.
