2028 is high school now. Most of your tournaments are now recruiting tournaments without championships. I would expect most 2028 teams to do equal playing time in recruiting tournaments. If championship brackets are involved, then star players most likely play more, but for the most part it should be equal playing time at this point. If it’s not, and your daughter is on the bench, she needs to talk to the coach or she needs to find another team before next year. Which teams do this? I know some teams split time in high school strictly, but I always assumed that was not the norm for the top teams. Do the top MD teams actually sprit time evenly in high school? It was the norm for at least two top 5 teams this past weekend! I know at least one team was definitely out to win as some of their top players never left the field - and it wasn't Coppermine! So you're saying Coppermine's top players left the field? You must be joking. Coppermine's top players were on the field for the majority of the games we saw them play. Coppermine only had 3 or 4 subs this weekend in the games I saw. All girls rotated into the game. Do the math (it's pretty easy math too) that all girls were on the field for the majority of the games. Which is exactly why they have a small roster. Haters wanted to believe it's because they couldn't get girls, but they cut players and sent at least a few decent players to the B team. They have a small roster because they don't want to have to sub. Honestly, knowing how they play, it was the right thing to do. Far better than having girls on the bench who don't get in the game. girls left on their own accord, not because they got cut. The roster is small because they couldn’t get players to come tryout and even held supplemental tryouts. If everything was so great there, why did so many good players leave?

They absolutely did cut girls and, and although they didn't have very many at tryouts, they still had girls who were pretty good with decent potential for the future. They also had several girls on their B team who are now playing on Skywalkers Blue, so could have easily been at the very least a role player for their A team. No one said they had a bunch of top players, only that there were girls who could have rounded out a full roster, but they didn't want a bunch of girls on the bench they would have to play.

I was impressed with Coppermine this weekend. I am not sure what caused the 11-1 loss to eaglestix, but they are certainly still at top team. that shows exactly how much talent they had over the past few years that they could lose so many good players and still be very competitive. I am glad they didn't fold and the girls still there are sticking around because they are still really good team. This is false. Coppermine has never dropped anyone to the B team. Girls who tried out and are decent, not girls who were on the team. This is also not true. Almost all of the B team left and it has a small roster now.

Regardless of why girls left, it seems that it has worked out better than anticipated for all parties. Coppermine did not fall off the map. They still have strong players who will make them a top 6 team. It doesn't matter if they were or weren't able to fill 22 roster spots if they have enough girls to play and be competitive. Those who left also seem to be fairing well. All appear contributing to, and improving their new teams. The reasons and intentions of leaving are irrelevant at this point and all parties seem to be doing just fine. Lets just be happy for continued competition. Having coppermine fall a part wouldn't have helped anyone.
