Anyone going to Ghost Games with weekend?
What are the big tournaments this fall for the 2029s?
NorthEast Showcase in Albany 11/9 and Lax for the Cure in NJ 11/16 should be good. Who's going?

Should be fun! Lots of talent in both tournaments. Who did HHH draw?

Are YJ 2029 parents miserable bc they are the worst YJ A team in the program? And why are they always in the mid-atlantic forum whining about holdbacks as a way to cope with being third best LI team for 2029 class?

Look at the YJ2028A, wasn't all that impressive in the previous years and they turned around and become #1 last year. YJ knows what to do and what counts.

Was the plan for the 28s to hide from top teams and play in tournaments no one has heard of so they can pad their resume for rankings? Were the 28s as unsuccessful as the 29s? The 29s haven’t one a single tournament that anyone has heard of and won’t play NGLL because they are afraid of being exposed by 91, does that track with what the 28s did? Did the 28 parents whine about holdbacks before they started being able to compete?

I do not think they are “miserable” but it is true they are the lowest ranked YJ A team. They have brought in some out of state players to help them improve their rankings. They will continue the strategy of not playing in top brackets to have an inflated win-loss record. If you check their fall tournaments schedule, they have Q of the Island (no top LI teams entered) and playing in the 2nd pool at LAX 4 the Cure. YJ parent referenced YJ 28 team as improving but leaves out the fact that change occurred with a new coach (very good experienced coach) taking over. YJ Freidman still have the same coaches. Parents are content with how their girls are being used in their offensive and defensive rotations.

YJ is an absolute machine, and the 2029s are a very good team who just happen to play in an unbelievably stacked 2029 class. I am just busting the chops of the YJ fool that keeps coming onto the mid atlantic forum to whine about holdbacks. That said, they really should play in the NGLL, it would be amazing to have them play 91 in a regional final.

Unfortunately, it won't happen...Too many gripes/beefs between owners. It's amazing because Mid Atlantic has 12+ team divisions with like 3 divisions in NGLL..and play many more games. Oh well..whatcha gonna do

Oh well..whatcha gonna do YJ will never enter the NGLL. YJ as a program will only enter their own events they run (G8, Lax by the Sea, L4tC, LLL, Queen of the island, etc). The money stays in their own pocket. Why do you think YJ started the Maryland Cup (in Delaware)? it was to compete with the mid -Atlantic championship. Same can be said with American Select vs UA150. Any event Robinson Sports runs there is going to be a YJ with Steps or whoever event as well.

Black is their top team and Yellow is their #2. LXC is one of the top programs in MA. They typically battle with Mass Elite. Red is Mass Elite's top team which added a bunch a really strong players this year. Mass Elite Red, Gold Coast Black, LXC Black and a YJ team will be Ghost Games this weekend.

I'm interested to see how teams like Monster, YJ, Top Gun and Philly Blast are looking this year. Teams from MA like LXC and Mass Elite usually step out in the 8th grade year so they might make some noise this fall. Not sure if they can compete with the top LI teams but I can't wait to see how it plays out!

TG vs Roar Monsters Philly Blast MD United NXT Black Mass Elite Red Primetime Eagle stix Blue
This fall. Easy peasey Wow, what a slate of teams. Outside of the MD teams (Heroes, M&D, Copermine and Integrity) TG is playing all the top 29 teams in the country. When the first rankings come out in November I think the 4 MD teams and 6 teams from the list above will be in the Top 10. Maybe YJ Friedman too. The 2029 age group is loaded.

TG, Team 91, NXT and Eaglestix are all legit. YJ Freidman is still playing Monster, Philly Blast and Mass Elite so no easy games in that bracket either. The showcase format makes it tough with teams only getting 3 games and no playoffs. You want the top teams to play each other but also need to see how some teams from outside the area match up. These 8 teams have to be the best of the best in the NorthEast. Other than your top Mid-Atlantic teams, no one is touching these teams.

I would agree that YJ is not in the top bracket at Lax 4 the Cure but who would you bump out? TG, Team 91, NXT and Eaglestix are all legit. If you were to use the last years final rankings (as most every tournament does) then Eaglestix should in the 2nd pool and YJ Freidman in the top pool. If you remember last year, YJA was not in the top pool at the main tournaments (Lax4theCure, G8, LLL, Maryland cup) despite being ranked higher than teams placed there. The reputation they conveyed is that the team is “ducking competition” The team had the lowest strength of schedule of the top 10. So by being in the 2nd pool at lax4thecure, is that a sign that they will continue the same strategy as last year?

Tradition still going to be a top 10 team in the fall rankings like last year. They sure did run up their GD against sub par teams though.

Mass Elite seems ehh. MA was not impressive at American select. Agreed, MA was not impressive at American Select. Mass Elite and LXC typically add players around 8th grade when they scoop up most of the local talent from the smaller clubs. The older Mass Elite teams are all in the top 10. It will be interesting to see how their 29s do at Northeast Showcase and Lax 4 the Cure against real competition.

Tradition is NOT a top 10 team. Maybe top 20. I'd be surprised if they crack the top 15 in the fall rankings this year.

Last year it looks like they entered 4 fall tournaments which is impressive for a “town” team. Their strength of schedule was the lowest in the top 15 just below Philly Blast and YJ A.

They were top 10 team after fall because YJ and 91 didn’t travel down to Maryland so the system didn’t know what to do with LI teams and it was bias. Tradition is barely a top 25 team.
