Why would they? This page is just full of a bunch of whiny bellyachers. I cannot recall the last time I read something useful or insightful on this page and it's a shame.

FCA did quite a lot!! They added a student defenseman from Crabs/LTLC. They also added Red Hots/Duke's Elite Middie student. The new coaching looks promising at practices, but regardless of coaching these new additions will take elite by storm.

FCA's new coach led to many players leaving. If they can't succeed, this team with blow up. Although that former Crabs defenseman is making waves, along with that Duke's Elite/Red Hots Middie.

My guess is Crabs, they did a full reboot with a bunch of repeaters. Does BL get double the enrollment fees for their kids who repeat 8th grade?
91 got some big boys and will surprise a few teams.
FCA moms are already bragging about their new coaches and their well traveled additions.
Predators will beat some teams this year, great program will see results this year!
Haven’t heard about teams below the city, but we are still chasing them.

Hearing that King Crab is going to take his ball and go home since Hoco isn't going to allow his 150+ holdbacks on his 29 team.

Any truth to the rumors that HOCO is going to backtrack on allowing holdbacks in the 29 division ?

As of now age guidelines in Hoco site say no one born before Jun 1 2009. It was Jun 1 2010 last year so seems like the holdbacks will return this year. NLF still using 2010, so do teams carry holdbacks and they can’t play in NLF and other age verified events?

Only thing that is true in this post is the last sentence. FCA retained all their starters and significant contributors and upgraded the players who left or got cut to the 2nd team, which by the way was said had no chance of happening but did...

Who is the coach?

Drew Wardlow and I doubt any kids left because of him, he is an accomplished coach and should be a great addition.

I've heard of a new team coming from Maryland! They are called Ascension, they kids from teams such as 91, FCA, Preds, Annapolis hawks and True Chesapeake and Crabs. they have already beaten some top 50 teams and I should expect them to make an appearance in the rankings this year. They have made some additions over the summer with the two student hawks defenders and a 91 attackmen. their goalies are also a strong suit with multiple goalies ranging from elite teams. they play in a showcase in about 3 weeks and they play some elite teams such as RedHots national, MadLax, and True Chesapeake. and with coach Andy Hillgardener leading the charge they should have a great season and perform well in the summer.

Haven’t heard about teams below the city, but we are still chasing them.

Crabs and Preds won't be able to use their holdbacks in hoco so they are screwed. Crabs still lacking offensive firepower outside of their two big middies. Preds lost one of their better offensive players when he moved to north carolina.

91 always claims they are knocking on the door of the top teams but rarely produces. Lost a top attack to Futures so that won't help.

FCA added several new kids but have to see how that pans out.

Hawks has several new players including a couple of 28's that are dropping down and several kids from Pittsburgh.

True Chesapeake has added more out of state kids including a kid from North Carolina in a desperate follow the True model of flying in kids to win minor championships.

Madlax lost a couple of kids who went to Next Level due to drama.

Next Level picked up some of the BLC kids who didn't go to DC Express.

Sadly, we are probably looking at another year of southern MD dominance in the Elite division. Crabs and FCA are the only Baltimore clubs who improved and the holdbacks won't play in Hoco this year.

This prognosticator says that barring an 11th hour entry like Fusion Futures, True Chesapeake will buy their first championship. Celebrations will be had from DC to Charlotte.

Word is King Crab is ducking all the NLF events for his 29 team and scouting for the best Aloha Non-Age Verified Tourneys to deploy his 15 year old laden team.

Vegas has odds of at least one Crabs 29 player getting his learners permit before the end of the season at -130.

To continue some of the statements above.

As of now the Hoco Rules are status quo.

FCA added a good defensive player from Crabs/LTLC. Emphasis of good-great. FCA will be up in the air this year because of the shake up last year lead my many parents, who on a "secret" conference call with the now new coach, tore the team and coach apart. The kicker was that they didn't have the IQ to realize that the then coach was on the call as well. So who nows were loyalty's are. FCA is also fielding a B team with a former Preds coach who has great experience and character.

Crabs added a a few + players including 4 that have come down from the 28's. There is a solid core that have played together for a while.

Unsure about Preds. I do know that they will field two teams again. They lost a couple players to other teams. There seemed to be very little movement between the A and B team. They will be a little better this year with a year of HOCO under their belt.

Team 91 will still be Team 91.

Interesting fact on which team have two or more teams in MD:

Hawks - 2
Bethesda - 2
FCA -2
Preds - 2
Team Maryland - 2
True - 6 not including true Maryland

Comments on the holdback situation - I am not in agreement with holdbacks and my son is not a holdback. With that being said, I think that the original statement set by HOCO should be honored, based on the simple principle that teams have already set rosters. Holdbacks should play this year in the 2029 league only. Changing the rules now changes the ability for KIDS to play based on what the rules said, wether you are in agreement with them or not. My understanding is that 6 of the 8 teams are fine with the current rule while the other 2 are lobbying for the change. This is all a result of the greed that teams have caused from many years trying to get an advantage. This will take years to starightened out.

OMG imagine having to play against someone a few months older. Sounds terrible and scary. The government should step in and solve this situation for you and your poor poor child.

Fact-One of the holdbacks for crabs is one day over the limit. the others are within a few months. if you can't handle that then it's a you problem. Not your kids problem.

Scenario - if a non holback is 7 months older than another non holdback is that an issue?

Holding your son back is announcing to the public and more importantly to him that he is a disappointment. Which @ChillLaxin.

Whatever. A lot of the kids in question couldn’t even make 2028 A teams last year, if they were good enough they wouldn’t hold back, you do you and pump your chest out proudly wearing your quarter zip. Everyone else knows the truth.

I am an FCA parent who had a son on the team last year. Your description of what transpired at the end of the season is 100% fantasy. Several families were unhappy with the teams underperformance and several disagreed teams scheme/playing time decisions (this probably happens on most teams). Bottom line, those families had to make a decision on whether to stay with FCA or move to another elite team (multiple elite hoco teams had extended offers to top FCA players before the season had ended). They asked FCA leadership for an explanation as to why they felt this year would be better. FCA leadership explained that the 25 coaching staff would be coming down to pick up the 29 team (Most elite clubs transition from a youth coach to a high school coach sometime in middle school... see Crabs as an example). Likewise, FCA had targeted several players for recruitment.

The former FCA 29 coach moved over to coach one of the younger teams and the new staff took over. Most families had strong affection for our former coach as he is a great human being and role model for our kids.

FCA had a vigorous tryout process and added 7 new kids. None of the "core" players left. FCA will have a new starter at Defense, Midfield and likely Attack and has improved the quality of its depth.

Your comment on loyalty is a joke. Every club is loyal to your kid as long as they don't find a player who is significantly better. EVERY SINGLE YEAR, ELITE CLUBS CUT KIDS DURING TRYOUTS. FCA parents and players were loyal to the 29 team. They stuck together through a challenging year with a ton of injuries. At the end of the year, they asked the organization for a plan for improvement. OUT OF LOYALTY TO FCA, they remained with the program.
