Connor Shellenberger collect social security while in the PLL? Thats funny but true,, Guy looks like a full grown man in interviews. That age shouldnt be allowed to play,,,Got to be a cut off at 23 unless you were in Military. MD Wisnokis ? was really old too, Heldback, Red shirt, Covid year, 4 years college eligibility .. Guy was like Connor, 25 or 26,,,Totally goes against what most think of college players. Shellenberger is 23. Old, but not ridiculously so.

I’d say more like 24 and his partner in crime Cormier was in his 6th year at uva all while most likely graduating HS at 19+

Your logic is what has led us to the current NCAA situation, NIL and soon to be paid professional college players. In a few years the world of college sports will be totally changed all in the name of winning at any cost. Wisnauskas was 23 when he graduated. It seems weird but true bc he went to syracuse to hold back as a red shirt. The worst thing about him is he spend 6 years as an undergrad and still didn't graduate. He was in college 6 years, He graduated from BL. No one graduates at 17 from BL that plays lacrosse . Majority are graduating at 19 and were holdbacks/prefirsts

St Mary’s had 5 freshman on varsity this last year. 1 hawks attack started for part of the year at least. The rest saw minimal time.

The worst thing about him is he spend 6 years as an undergrad and still didn't graduate. , He went to BL and started , which means his % of being held back was very high. Holdbacks graduate at 19 or turn 19 in summer. Add 6 years . He could have been the one player on BL that didnt get heldback , LOL ,, then it was 18 plus 6 . College Lacrosse is full of these grown men now, so it isnt like it is a big deal now. I personally think it is sad that college lacrosse has become what it is with respect to age of players. Everything is changing in next few years with all the NIL and the breakups of NCAA conferences, I imagine soon we will have a different world of college sports . Should be interesting and how our non revenue lacrosse comes out.

At least two. The RedHots are opening a team in Howard County and the John Carroll coaches started NorthStars up in Harford County.

I wasn't sure the RedHots are doing 27 for Howard county, just their national teams. True is sounding really rough for chesapeake/annapolis teams. Kids running to other clubs to avoid that 3k bill!

Next Level beat Team 91 LI Machine last summer so they must be the best. Next Level didn't just beat Team 91 Machine, they blew the doors off them. It was 9-1 before NL emptied the bench. Madlax has the best very top end players but drops off after the top 5. The Crabs reclasses turned out to be just a bunch of mid 26's who didn't get better after puberty. Hawks holdbacks and 4 practices a week held up in grade school but the kids didn't get physically bigger or stronger after puberty, but they did manage to poach some NL players. Team 91 = Crabs except their reclasses are the ones who didn't make Crabs.

It just happens NL as a team is just a little better than the others at this age group.

Sadly the 2027 DMV area teams are all down from a national perspective
NL has a top 10 ranking, but other than the win over 91 Machine (who were missing several key players btw), they have beaten no one of significance. Considering how many games they’ve lost, it’s puzzling how they are ranked so high.
Hawks have no big wins, but no bad losses.
Madlax has the best wins, including wins over Hawks and Crabs, but have sprinkled in some ugly losses along the way - including one to 91 Maryland.
Crabs are same boat as Hawks. No big wins, but no ugly losses.
91 Maryland really isn’t relevant other than that they’re just good enough to sneak up on a team every once in a while.

The rankings don’t really matter. All of the starters on these teams will have college offers.

The densest argument of sports is "were missing key players btw." No one cares. Machine had every single top player including the hot shot Lawrenceville goalie who didn't have a save until the last few minutes. The reason why NL was ranked 9 is because they beat everyone below them, don't play cupcakes and gave the teams ranked above them competitive games. 7 of the 9 teams ranked above them are supersquads from huge regional areas and multiple teams. It's a testament to what is basically a rec team where 25 out of the 26 players live within 10 miles of the practice field. All credit to Machine parents though, they were shocked but complementary as they stood around saying "who is next level."

That explains a lot. Thanks. This summer NL lost the following games to teams ranked below them… Mad Dog West (ranked 23) Mad Dog Gold (ranked 41) 2 Way (ranked 22) Shore 2 Shore (ranked 20) Team 10 (ranked 16) Leading Edge (ranked 15) Most of these games weren’t even close. I get that the rankings are not exact, but every team between 10 and 20 should be ranked above them. And others as well.

Next Level started 2 girls against Machine and still beat them. The densest argument of sports is "we’re missing key players btw." No one cares. All credit to Machine parents though, they were shocked but complementary as they stood around saying "who is next level." So the Machine goalie had a bad game, and the team didn’t take NL seriously. And beat 2 Way And beat Shore 2 Shore. Whatever, take it up with USCL. Now do that same deep dive with the other teams and see what you come up wih. Maybe if those other teams could keep their rosters together instead of the players scattered around playing for a bunch of supersquads, they'd do better. I'm sorry a rec team beat Machine but maybe your gripe is with them.

It’s amazing how good a team can look when they’re playing against a struggling goalie.

It’s amazing how good a team can look when they’re playing against a struggling goalie. Struggling? How about not that good and a terrible teammate to go with it. Lawrenceville won't put up with his @ChillLaxin for long and he'll hit the bench and they won't miss a beat.
