And there you have it. The post that sums up the absolute ignorance aka lack of knowledge that inundates this place. I have zero urge to look up the couple I know I forgot. And even less urge to research the few that I never knew about.

All had 8th graders playing varsity in the last 2 years. Not sitting on sidelines. Not just participating in practices. Actually playing. And despite the persons opinion that posted on here a few posts back, none of them took steroids.
You’ll probably reply that these aren’t schools of note. Very typical. The fact is the two best high school teams on Long Island are the two main Catholics by a mile. No 8th grader is going to play on those two teams. Of the teams I mentioned, a few were in playoffs. And a few made it pretty far. You’re clueless.

Those teams were pretty bad and you can lose almost all your games and you still make playoffs lol

Ok clown. Compared to who?
Name 5 teams on Long Island better than BPBP, wantagh, east islip, and garden city.
fool

For the 2024 season I’ll take SS over all of them.

Comical

SS will not have as good of a year this years as they did last year.

Why wouldn’t they? They are returning many of the same players!

No they aren't, not even close. The FOGO who was among the most important / best players in the State graduated along with 80% of their offense and their starting goalie and top pole. They return one significant offensive contributor.

No need to mention race. This is an economic and geographic issue. Look at youth participation rates for soccer and football. People flee the Northeast’s high taxes but don't realize most publics outside of the NE do not have public school lax. Meanwhile kids on LI have been playing for over 75 years.

So you agree with him then.

Sounds like it.

any idea when the teams competing in Delaware comes out? About a month away. Good luck to everyone, can't wait to read more complaints from the express parents-good luck finding out on Wednesdays which team you're playing for!

Top LIE Parent excuse list:

“He’s really on the A team but he didn’t travel with the team because they had some new boys they wanted to get a look at.”

“He’s on their A team, he’s just helping out the B team this weekend. The Coach asked because they needed some players.”

They have as many holdbacks as Express, they should be able to play anyone. If not, embarrassing.

What do you mean? Why hating on s2s? Or any other team? Why not encourage and let them play? Stop living vicariously through your kids.

S2S has no holdbacks, seriously do your homework. They are one of the only teams who have kids truly their age. Again stop living through your own kids. Pathetic

Holdbacks in Kindergarten count buddy. Heck, one of them played for multiple PAL and S2S teams because he was in one grade but the age of another grade. Multiple older kids.

No one is hating. Just pointing out what everyone knows. They have holdbacks and should be competitive. If you want to bury your head in the sand and ignore what is happening in the Island that’s on you. Don’t throw stones to other areas of the country though.

There are more teams that do not have hold backs
Leg rush
Btb
Rebels
Tritons aka surge
Igloo
To name a few. Any teams still dealing with daddy ball besides 91?

They struggled last year and they lost top players this year so you do the math on how they will be this year

It's actually comical I remember the boys in PAL all talking about how that one kid is good but legit a year older then them. Now it seems like everyone caught up!

S2S has the OG of holdbacks! They are the worst offender.

Nobody cares about tritons.

And beside ONE person posting repeatedly, no one cares about holdbacks.

Express doesn’t have daddy ball but they 47 kids on the roster.

You again. It’s not one person. It’s dozens across multiple boards on this site.

They are definitely nuts. It doesn’t take any smarts to realize older kids do well against younger kids. Most people prioritize morals over end result.

Speak for yourself, the majority of top players are holdbacks. it is a fact. Not average players sitting on bench at D1, I am talking about Top 20 , D1 program starters.

Over 50% are holdbacks. It works , @ChillLaxin for the people that dont do it and actually had a chance if they had held their son back.

This has nothing to do with morals. As discussed incessantly, you can’t afford it, so your petty jealousy forces you to come on here and claim some sort of moral high ground. At the end of the day, it will get you nowhere.

This has happened a lot more in recent years. I think those playing at the D1 level who either just graduated or are graduating this year, it's less common.

People are definitely not going to stop, so the rest of us without a holdback son, will just have to learn to accept it. It's not going any where.

nobody has as many holdbacks or flies in more people than Express-kid is on the team, see it with my own 2 eyes. Most of us don't like it, those whose kids don't see the field aren't affected by it. Not happy they do it, but the coaching is very good.
