Express will not be good Find another home They don’t care about the younger teams Zero development Not true. You will see a new team next year. Great coaches with great talent that will develop into a powerhouse.

From what I gathered everyone is chasing a “unicorn”. Talks of lots of movement between teams but in the big picture development should be the goal. This conversation will change come 7/8th grade but I’m struggling to understand why people are so quick to jump to Express now knowing the club and their tendencies when it comes to players.

Express cares little for the younger teams. When the time comes they go out and recruit. 2029 team as an example, they have recruited almost an entirely new starting roster. But if folks wanna drink the koolaid and claim it’s different with this team and they are special, go right ahead. Not the place to be when trying to get better.

Express do not care about development at all, they will just offer your free tuition at st Anthony’s when you get to 8th grade. Seems very illegal to me

That “little kid “ as you say has more heart and determination than any kid around. Regardless of what happens with his “size” That kid gonna be successful no matter what he does
Get some perspective

Where do you get his information. Express is outstanding if you’re on the top teams. The 2nd teams come down which coach is running it. Some are incredibly successful. That’s an accurate and fair assessment. But don’t get your information here, ask parents with the club and get their take. Also ask about the roster size and how many kids per position. Very important.

Evan worse, the roster changed all the time - never knew who was showing up to coach or who was showing up to play. Roster size was way out of control, well over 30 kids. There was no team unity at all.

Express cares nothing for development. When the time comes they will go outside your team and recruit an entirely new roster. You don’t have to look any further than the 2029 team who just recruited a whole new starting lineup. Fact

Every team recruits and brings in players that gives them a better chance to win. That’s travel lax. 2nd teams with dedicated coaches are better situations. You do get the A team envy families and people leave because they can’t brag at the summer BBQs that their son is on the A team. But for the most part give me a 2nd team with coaches who are dedicated and I’ll take it.

Clubs attempt to get better and the parents do half the recruiting. Development for Express is all the 2nd teams. The 25, 26, 27, 29 second teams are really good. The AA teams as all the elite players. Be realistic with where your child should play and find the right situation. So much choice on Long Island. I would rather have my son as a top player on the 2nd team vs bottom rostered on the AA. But I understand AA team envy.

People can be so thick. You don’t want your kid on the B team. Once on the B team it is very tough to get off the B team. Every now and again a player will be that good to make the move but that is a small percentage. Express is the worst club to be locked into if on a B team. Zero kids get better. Run from the station

Every now and again a player will be that good to make the move but that is a small percentage. Express is the worst club to be locked into if on a B team. Zero kids get better. Run from the station All B teams have issues with a few things. First, the coaching check this, because if the coach is doing multiple teams, that’s a concern. Second, the talent level is so disparate vs A teams. Third, the level of dedication to the sport is different on 2nd teams. So do your research, ask questions, ask about the roster size, and look at the overall success of the club. And lastly what are looking for for your son in terms of expectations.

Express loaded with mediocre players, same with 91.
Rebels and S2S collapsed. Out of contention.
Seems Igloo made out in off season replacing mediocre players with better talent. Will continue to be the team to beat next year in this age group.

Rebels also added 3-4 VERY good ones. This gets said every year about every team. It doesn’t make a difference. Teams now get better by looking out of state. That’s what 91 and Express are able to do. And other LI clubs are not.
