I took my son to legrush tryouts today. If he doesn’t make the top team, I don’t think it’s worth staying. I’ll probably look at Surge or BTB

Igloo/legacy merger?

At $150/pop, Legacy just ROLLING in the dough! Too bad combining 3 A teams doesn’t equal a competitive AA team.

It didn’t work for the 2025’s and it won’t work now

Don’t be so sure about that this group is very talented they will give venom and definitely express a run for their money

Yawn. For some of these families its 3 clubs in 4 years.

Anyone who thinks that a Legacy team that averaged less than 5 goals a game all season is going to suddenly challenge Venom and Chucks is insane. They're bringing over Rush kids, who last I checked were a A/B team. Then they're bringing over Igloo, who have a few good players. But there's no way the Legacy coaches are all of a sudden going to change relying on the same couple of kids, who haven't performed, no matter who joins their squad. The players are decent, not great, they've had 4 coaches in the past 6 years. The new guy isn't getting it done. When they stop listening to the attackman's dad and start playing the kids who deserve to play, then, MAYBE, they'll start to improve.

Anyone hear anything about the following teams adding/losing kids (not including flying kids in from out of state)

Chucks
Venom
Surge
S2S
BTB

Just because tryouts already happened, doesn’t mean you can’t reach out to a team and ask for a look

So how many out of state players made venom? Heard there was a few at tryouts.

They tried to get 5 kids and they rejected Venom.

Let’s talk about the express north zone defense. Genius and amazing coaching? They took down Venom and Red Hots. Or huge disservice to the players and they will not get better? Which side are you on?

2025 basically started with Red, White and Blue. Blue quickly folded, white show some promise and then just became irrelevant this last year and cxld their last tourney. Sad because Rush and Legacy had decent teams.. Basically they ended up with one team. And the good players went to ECE and became a very very good team. In my opinion, this situation is risky, unless your son is on the top team.

What is alarming about the chucks is the top players are leaving, not kids that don’t see the field. How were tryouts did they pick up anyone from venom? Or out of state holdbacks?

Correct the top team will be ok. The other team, not so much

Yes decent players at best. Nobody on the team is really top 10 on the island in any position. Probably not even top 20 actually. I doubt that one single player on that team could make chucks or venom. If they were to actually make those teams, they certainly would never start or get meaningful minutes. They couldn’t beat a middle school team.

What everyone is starting to see is the reclassed and out of state players are coming in now taking opportunities away from on age Long Island kids. The money grabbing club owners are ruining youth sports. Shouldn’t be much to ask to limit LI team rosters to kids who live on LI. We pay the club tuitions from K-8th grade and then they give roster spots/opportunities to out of state players in the recruiting years. Don’t know how they sleep at night making money off the backs of great kids while crushing their dreams. Club lacrosse is a cesspool.

There’s little to no coaching happening there so it’s not surprising. D coach coaches but that’s about it. There’s more recruiting going on than coaching.

Ridiculous take. Major talent on that team, chucks could use at least 3-4 offensive players from that team. Your disgust for these kids seems personal and it’s making you sound st#p/d

Ha what is it about attack dads?! Every team seems to have that dad that has too much influence

LegRush will be a decent team, but they will not compete with top 10 teams. Venom is the only team on LI that comes close to giving those teams a game, and even then it’s a stretch.

Rebels have tryouts today….no daddy coaches!

Likely you can’t make Venom if you’re too much of a standout beyond the kids and buddies of the coaches.
