GC/P'ville I think could go either way.
I don't think the CSH/Town game will be as far apart as that.
Somers I think depends on which Pelham team shows up, but it should be a Somers W
Greeley/FL is a classic rivalry game that could be a trap game for Greeley, but I don't see Greely losing.

The rest is pretty spot on.

Rye/Eastchester is a league game - they have to play it.

Brewster over Arlington would be the upset of the week, if not for one thing:

Fox Lane over Greeley in OT.
That is not a typo.
A varsity lacrosse game in section 1 was won 3-2.
It was almost a controversial ending as FL looked to have scored the go ahead goal less than a minute to go, but was waved off by the officials.

P'ville and Rye are on a tear, Mamo is dominating A, John Jay is playing at a high level and went toe-to-toe with Manhasset, Rye and Yorktown. Yorktown is slightly down for them, which is still a top 5 team. Somers has been exceeding expectations, Bronxville is playing well.

The surprises to me are Scarsdale and Briarcliff coming down so much off the last few years but the mid-level teams are all better than in the past.

So, I don't think so? But that is one man's opinion

Agreed, those who know Dale, knew this was coming. Having great FOGO and goalie keeps you in EVERY game. They can control the tempo, losing those kids and not having depth have hurt them. Not expected to get better in the next 2-3 years but who knows.

And now they have Bronxville tonight and John Jay tomorrow - 2 of the best goalies in Section 1 on little rest.
Who let that schedule happen.

Looking ahead they'll be lucky to come out of the next two weeks with 2 wins

I don't think it was any large suprise thate afte having such high level play from both a GK and FOGO, they would take a step back, but I don't think it was expected to be this much.
They did lose their top player at the beginning, so that couldn't have helped either.

However, I don't think it will take that long to rebound for them. They are a very well managed program.

Their FOGO was also an elite player otherwise. They lost basically 2 top kids when he graduated.

That’s a good bounce back win. Bronxville youth showed today. They came back and tied it but couldn’t close the deal.

Saturday I think will be a much different game.

Pleasantville and Somers go down to the island and come back with wins.
Jay closes the door early on Greeley. Somers/John Jay for the league next week will be a must see.
Really intriguing game tonight with Yorktown/Mamo. This should be a good one.

Some good games today and league battles
Fox Lane/JJCR
Somers/Byram

These two should setup a league battle later this week.

Greely at Mahopac
P'ville vs. Ardsley - I think we know the outcome there
Chaminade Stepinac
Rye Yorktown the highlight of the day. This will be a good one.

I was at the PT South Salem lacrosse tourney this past weekend and I have to comment on the behavior of the coach of Westport 5th / 6th team.
The coach loudly berated the players at half-time, enough so, that all the adults at that field could hear him. He wasn’t swearing, but his choice of words and tone were so out of place. Then, the coach was attending to one of his hurt players on the field and started to engage the adults, in a very brief combative manner.

For my limited experience (1 game) with this coach/team, I’m appalled that Westport allows this behavior. The Coach demonstrated no knowledge in lacrosse, however, he does have college (UConn) and NFL (Lions) playing experience and can be seen on his soapbox for ESPN.

If this is his normal behavior, I would pull my kid from that team ASAP.

How about the Greeley 8th grade team at the same tournament who showed up with kids who don't even go to Greeley. All-time sleazy move. Whoever runs Greeley youth lacrosse and whoever the coach is have lost all perspective. Gotta love a message to kids in your own town that they aren't good enough so you go recruit kids from other towns and have them pretend to be Greeley kids...in the last year before HS!!!!!! This isn't club ball, this is your YOUTH TOWN TEAM. You could see how awkward it was when some of the parents recognized kids on the Greeley team being from their hometown.

So glad they got caught, what an embarrassment.

Rye/Yorktown was one of the craziest endings I've seen in a LOOOONG time. What a game.
Rye kills the last 2+ minutes to hold for the last shot in regulation as it was tied. Takes a shot and misses with no backup with about 12s to go. Yorktown tries a full field shot against a 10-man ride. Rye moves the ball back the length of the field to score with 2.8s to go and the lead.
Yorktown wins the ensuing FO clean and from about 40 yards out, takes a shot that somehow goes in at the buzzer to tie it and head to 2 OT session.

Rye goes 2-man down in the second OT with both of their best poles in the box (first call was iffy, second one was definitely a flag). Yorktown wins it on a snipe from a pole at about 15 yards.

Just a battle of 2 very defensive-heavy teams. Yorktown I think is like 4-1 in OT games this year

That’s 100% typically greeley right there , that’s why so many on this forum can’t stand them. Certain coaches/parents have a name for themselves and nothing surprises me; but that’s a new low , but hey looking at tourney app they went 1-2 so it looks like they got what they deserved. Maybe the 8th grade has the best offfense in section 1 as well?

Was there and it was a total disgrace. It’s not like the took some random kids. Literally pulling the best players from other town teams and giving them Greeley gear. Those in the know know who’s behind it. It’s not the coach as much as he doesn’t seem to have the backbone to stop it. This is perfectly on brand for head of Greeley lacrosse.

Greeley parents really amaze me. You guys really needed to take kids from other towns for some random spring tournament? All you’re doing is harming the development of your own kids. When you take the kids from another town they are taking quality game minutes away from kids who will actually end up at Greeley in the future. All for some random 8th grade tournament, what a disgrace.

No one was hiding anything. The kid plays with that team.... last winter, last spring, this winter and spring. he is one of the most recognizable players, it wasn't a secret. The team was not disqualified they were in the winners bracket after the 1st game. Lost to Docs in 2nd game who then won the championship, who has not one kid that plays at the same high school. pulls from New York City. I would call that a club team. Get your information straight...

This totally misses the point.

Why is there a need to have a player from outside Chappaqua to play?

Get YOUR information straight you lost the first game 9-8 to Fairfield (anyone can see in the app), hence the LOSERS bracket is where you ended up (where you guys belong, not b/c of your kids b/c of your coaches). You went 1-2 get the facts straight.

Correct and Greeley was dominating the game until the tournament directors were made aware of the New Canaan based Eclipse director’s kid was scoring goals. He was asked to leave and his goals removed from the score.

Nice slate of games today as the season winds down:

Haldane at Briarcliff, 4 p.m.
Ossining at Lakeland/Panas, 4:30 p.m.
Rye at Pelham, 4:30 p.m.
Fox Lane at Byram Hills, 4:30 p.m.
Rye Neck at Keio, 4:30 p.m.
Yonkers at Westlake, 4:30 p.m.
Edgemont at Hastings, 4:30 p.m.
Albertus Magnus at Irvington, 4:30 p.m.
New Fairfield, Conn. at Yorktown, 4:30 p.m.
Bergen Catholic at Stepinac, 4:30 p.m.
Eastchester at Harrison, 5 p.m.
Somers at Greeley, 5 p.m.
Blind Brook at Bronxville, 5 p.m.
Pleasantville at Pawling, 5 p.m.
Arlington at Tappan Zee, 5 p.m.
Sleepy Hollow at North Salem, 5 p.m.
Carmel at Nanuet, 5 p.m.
Ardsley at Mahopac, 5 p.m.
Iona Prep at Chaminade, 5 p.m.

The most interesting matchups seem to be Somers/Greeley in a key league matchup. New Fairfield vs. Yorktown - Huskers hopefully not doing another OT thriller and Iona heading down to Chaminade.

Last 2 weeks of the season. Things are heating up with playoff seedings becoming more clear.

Daniello gave fairfield the win in a lopsided loss, however, kept Greeley in winners bracket and did not disqualify the team. If they were in the losers bracket, they would not have played Docs, the eventual tournament winner. For what it is worth.. those are the facts. Again, the particular player in questions, plays for the team, they didn't bring in a ringer for one tournament. That is why there were not disqualified. Can we all move on now and stop talking about youth lacrosse, its youth lacrosse. Pretty good games on tap with beautiful weather FINALLY!
