St Mary’s really moving to the B conference? Hearing the new president of the school wants all the teams from st Mary’s in the same conference. IS there any school with all its teams in the same conference? I guess some might be all C. Spalding

The president gave the last coach 3 seasons, so story checks out. How so? Previous JC head coach was fired for punching a dad. Rumor is AD tried to protect the fired trainer at JC for being inappropriate towards female athletes. He took it out on the lacrosse coach.

Rumor is AD tried to protect the fired trainer at JC for being inappropriate towards female athletes. He took it out on the lacrosse coach. These rumors all seem pretty unsubstantiated. Let's be honest. That said, where is JC Dad to bark at us about how it's a premier lax education destination, and how Harf Co families are foolish for sending their kids to LB, CHC, Curley, etc.

Can you elaborate as to the rabbit hole??? sounds like real problems with the AD and President. School year starts soon and no coach is in place, that's going to be a problem for the up coming year

Oh you can do a forum search for JC Dad's hot takes. If only Calvert Hall and Loyola would stop selflessly taking Harford County's best and brightest lax stars for their 60 man rosters, and more wisely stay home at JC, John Carroll would be a lax giant. It would just instantly arise like a Phoenix from the wreckage of the Edgewood Arsenal.

Because you're smart. And you know that playing is more fun. Who wants to drive 15 hours per week x42 weeks a year and ride pine? Play close to home. Play for a team where you'll make an impact. For the bulk of kids, the commute doesn't make a lick of sense. But few of the dads here are sensible or grounded in reality. And many of these MIAA coaches know how desperate these dads are to belong, so it's super easy to string them along.

Schools need numbers to compete. But over recruiting to keep kids away from the competition happens a ton in the conference.
If you're looking, "know before you go."
See what each team has in the pipeline and on the roster before you commit.
And listen to the coaches. Is their sales pitch generic (just about their program) or did they actually see you play? Do they care about your kid personally and his specific needs as a student athlete?
Some coaches just cant refuse a recruit. Even if they already have 15 attackmen rostered. There is a reason why so many coaches are also admissions counselors. It's good for the school's bottom line.
And PS- Moving your kid to an "affiliated" club team will not improve his chances of playing in HS. But the affiliated coaches appreciate the donation.

Kids, with their families show up to BL,McD, CHC and Loyola because they are winning programs who get their kids into colleges to play lacrosse, any level. Good players, and their families want to be with the best. They all provide comparable academics for someone who wants to play lacrosse in college. A top eight grader is not looking at JC,Gilman or MSJ. These three schools are losing programs with coaches who will never improve their schools lacrosse program.

Gilman has not had one kid go there for “lacrosse” since Matthew’s was there. Gilman is slowly becoming irrelevant in many things besides lacrosse. A once proud institution is no longer. Years ago going to Gilman meant something ...Now, frankly it means nothing more than any other MIAA school if that.

The average hawks that are coming to spalding are not going to help, just like they helped st Mary’s win all their titles. Tell me about jv again?
