Now that everyone’s mom has aired their grievances over the systems failure to recognize their baby’s clear superiority - predictions on which clubs will see players on the top team?

Thought the stations were well run. Agree about me-ball in scrimmages but no worse than any other camp (or what the actually American select games will entail).
Only complain is that the initial groups were not distributed evenly. Two of the groups had a majority of the girls from "big clubs". Admittedly, my daughter benefited from this, but can see how hard it could be for a girl from a non-top club to be seen. I'd say those comments are mostly spot on. My daughter didn't make it. She didn't really expect to make it either. So no harm, no foul. She just wanted to go with friends and try to compete in that type of environment. So I guess it was good. She got a callback, which was positive for her. But that was super short and really limited action. Not sure what additional they learned from that. She also said every time she or a friend did something (they thought was) good, the coaches just weren't paying attention or even on the field. Such is life. Personally, I'm not sure how you evaluate that many girls in that short of time. Hearing a couple kids who made it, (and moreso the girls that didn't), my guess is the evaluators weren't 100% paying attention. One girl who didn't make it was the best kid on my daughters MS team and plays for the top club in the state. Probably the best goalie around. She didn't even get a call back. So I don't know what they were watching. Congrats to all the girls who did make it. I hope it's a great experience. Goalies and defenders really a crapshoot at these things. Maybe she saw tougher shots/shooters, maybe issue on clears that were catchers issue not hers? Defenders, if you don't get up shots, maybe they just work around you but not chance for CT, but based on what it sounds like, not much passing so hard to make defensive plays. Kids need to realize making these teams doesn't mean you are top in your class and likewise, not making it, doesn't mean you aren't. Great point about defenders. The biggest difference between All American and Am select is that AA tryouts are positional-- they have certain slots to fill per position. Am Select the criteria is just the best 20 field players. Look at some other region teams; some of them have only 1 or 2 defenders. Will be interested to see the positional split when the rosters are posted. I know at least 3 defenders made the top team The event loses serious credibility when the clear top goalie AND midfielder in the age group don't even get a callback. Not a good look if you are fighting for market space as the top event/showcase team. But perhaps AM Select wants to brand itself as the select team that ANYONE has a shot at making, including mid-tier kids. That might be better for the bottom line. The clear top midfielder in this age group made All American and didn't even try out.

Now that everyone’s mom has aired their grievances over the systems failure to recognize their baby’s clear superiority - predictions on which clubs will see players on the top team? 80% are M&D, Heros, BLC and MD United with a few girls from mid-tier clubs. However since some M&D and Heros girls didn't play either team, the tryouts must be inherently biased.

They haven’t won a game in 2 years since he took over and doesn’t have enough for a jv team. Good players won’t stay.

Was there with Coppermine and watched Madskillz 27’s beat EagleStix and ran gave HG all they could handle. HG goalie had about 8 saves and rightfully was the MVP or it’s a different winner.

So, NDP and MVP are getting moat of the talent? And the HG goalie is heading to SPSG?
With GCS losing so many great seniors, Is there a new group going there next year? How about Spalding and McD?
Any good talent heading to this years mid A Conference schools?

Odd that AmSelect hasn't published their MD rosters yet. Probably better that way. Gonna be lots of surprises on there.

Many top players moved over to All American this year. MD American Select team struggled last year so this year might be the same.

Is it possibly because not all the girls who made it committed to playing by sending in the money? Do they have to respond by a certain day? What do they do if a girl/family decides not to do it?

Not sure where you are seeing all these top players there. I would say most of the top talent was at Am Select tryouts. And the 2026 MD Red team won it last year, so don’t know where you are coming up with all these facts. Unless it is just jealousy that your daughter didn’t either make a team or didn’t make the top one

McD got some from M&D 27. Only 1 really good one. Rest are ok for depth. Also McD returns almost all starters and first group of subs so doesn’t look good for play time for most.

Unless it is just jealousy that your daughter didn’t either make a team or didn’t make the top one The issues with Am Select last year was that Maryland was one of the few teams (at least in the top brackets) who came close to even playing time which is why a few of the teams struggled. Unlike many others on this board, I don't have a problem with this. Hopefully, they keep doing it through recruiting years.

All fine players but really the 50-75 percentile range. If you are remotely familiar with the age group, you'll see it when the rosters are released. When they play other regions it will be even more apparent. AA is the superior product this year.

Obviously not every top 2027 player tried out at AS but a lot did.

The best girls from Heroes were there (minus the kiddie that made AA). Most of the best from M&D were there. Best fro Copp were there. Best from SW. What are we missing. Where are these top players that weren’t there? They def aren’t at AA, so not sure how that is a superior product. I know quite a few Heros girls didn’t make the cut, so saying wait until the roster comes out is dense. Stop putting other girls down with no backup to your claims. It isn’t a good look.

AA is a superior product in that its a combo 26/27 team (really just 26s and a 27) while AS is two 2027 teams so yes, talent pool, in theory, is watered down. End of day, all this means nothing in terms of who colleges actuallt recruit, but nice to build resume.

Hearing it’s a mess and they are trying to get the rosters fixed.
Accidentally cutting kids in the first place doesn’t sit right with kids (and more-so, paying parents). “Oops, my bad,” is not a good look.
Who were the coaches evaluating?
And we haven’t even gotten to the girls who made the team to begin with, that are gonna get less playing time now with new additions.
