If you live in the Maryland/VA area and play for Crabs, Hawks, DCE, VLC or NL, you are in a good spot. Coaches will be watching your teams play all the time when the time comes. If you are on any other team in this said area, you may need to rely on individual showcases a game film a little more. If you are a starter on an MIAA, WCAC, IAC High School team you are good to go. Go to NHSLS tomorrow. See how many D1 Coaches are there. See why Ty Zander says these are the best recruiting tournaments. These same kids play on those clubs by default. If you are not getting significant playing time on these clubs listed above, leave. Agree

Now looks like the both of them are still chippy and using this forum. No one wants to hear you two anymore. HoCo coach doesn't care this much. RR coach has nothing better to do now that he doesn't coach. Lets get back to the better teams to discuss. RR and HOCO are ,,,frankly, just not that good. Only a few players will make it to college team from either team, and that will be a bottom D2 team at best

LI Express CoachC 12-3 Annapolis Hawks Green Express coach can coach and build a roster. Hawks coaches still stands around screaming like a maniac dropping f bombs while abusing his son verbally and emotionally for 40 minutes. That's the biggest difference with those teams. There are more differences than just that. LIE is a great team on a national level; the Hawks were nationally dominant a couple of years ago, but now they are a very strong local team on par with VLC, DCE, MadLax, and NextLevel. No shame being part of that group because they all play great lacrosse, but none of those teams can hang with LIE. Summer will be here before you know it. The only team in the DMV to hang with LIE or the top 10 teams will be DCE. VLC never, Next Level never and Madlax not happening. Looks like the top teams didn't feel the need to travel to Florida for US Clubs Nationals. Looks like Maddog and Sweetlax ran the table down there. DCE will #rundmv Happy New Year!

None of those teams ever go to Club Nationals, except Madlax, so not sure what point you are making. You're correct that VLC, NL, and ML are a notch below LIE, but so is DCE. each of those four (except possibly NextLevel) could beat the other three.

But this team is drastically different then it was in 2021 and summer 2022. Are they better then Madlax, Next Level and VLC which is really what I think the pp was stating.

Why do you think that DCE would have not have trouble with the other three? In HoCo last spring VLC beat DCE by three, and was up by ten at halftime. DCE's two best attackmen left the team for greener pastures and one or both joined MadLax. On any given day, any of these teams could beat the others, and the Hawks for that matter. Any Dad who says his son's team is dominant within that pack of five is either living in the past or his quarter zip is too tight.

Look forward to high school ball instead of reliving middle school lacrosse. The boys have moved on, the parents should as well. actually the same travel teams continue through HS, so we still have a ways to go. Back when the Hawks were good, their crowing was obnoxious but at least they backed it up on the field. Listening to DCE and VLC Dads going back and forth is pretty funny, but I don't expect it to stop, nor would I want it to.

Team 91 was very impressive down in Florida. I thought there were new players but was informed same kids just all have grown a lot (as have most kids/teams this age). I guess because they’ve always been a “small” team but now they’re not and physical, it happens !!

I guarantee you your kid isn’t stuck back in middle school anymore. The teams and players you 💩 on are now his peers and school teammates. Grow up and go enjoy the next 4.

We'll see what 91MD does at the 2026 level, but certainly in the years ranging where MM's sons played (2022 - then held back to 2023- through 2025), he has fielded pretty talented teams at the HS level. I have no doubt that many of the 2026ers have been together for several years, though likely as the lower half of the 2025 91 roster that didn't receive playing time and took MM's advice to reclass to "stay elite." And hey, he is correct on that. High level D1 and especially Ivy League are targeting the biggest, strongest kids these days. I don't know why, but it's the trend. Look at the USL magazine article about the 6'5" Penn middie from Oregon....

And why wouldn't you want bigger, faster and stronger. Now that the football numbers have started to flush out, those kids who used to play football have now switched to other sports, with lacrosse being the benefactor. You can see it with guys like Ament and Adler. Best of the best but at all of 5'9 and 170, they are prone to injury going against bigger players play after play. I can't understand why any coach wouldn't look at his high school freshman players and figure out who is going to be the biggest and strongest come their senior year and give them more reps and playing time. That 5'5" freshman whose dad is 5'7" and scored a bunch of goals in hoco may not be the kid to concentrate on when you have a 5'11" kid trying out whose dad is 6'3".

My kid is a public school kid and non holdback and 5’9” and going to an elite school with an elite lacrosse program at no charge. Know what else, several kids on his club team, which are all on age public school kids got similar deals. Didn’t need to “buy” my kid an opportunity via prep schools tuitions or resort to unethical practices like playing down a year or two, either. Yeah, nobody is talking endlessly about me behind my back saying what a lowlife cheat I am for having my kid only play younger kids. Yeah that must tough knowing everyone hates you. It’s nice to know that my son played on a team for 10 years and never had a single holdback and was the best team at his grade almost every year that the rankings exist, to include the current one. That’s right. Best team in the country and not a single holdback. Ever. Chew on that got a little while, you holdback parents. Cheating isn’t the only way to get ahead. Sometimes all you got to do is WORK GOR IT! Great lesson for you kid too. Sure beats the lesson that you are teaching.

Not sure where the lie is. Team 91 not holding back or college coaches wanting bigger and stronger. Seems pretty clear this is some kid who has been on the bench while the bigger, faster, stronger and older kids were on the field.

Prove me wrong. Tell us who you are, what club and grad year, and where he is going. I'll wait. And not only that, but I'll always be amused by the underlying concept that "spending $950K on a 1900sf house on 1/4 acre in The Right School District is soooooo much a better dad flex than paying private school tuition." This guy's kid didn't go to PG County or Dorchester or Baltimore City public schools. He is straight up MoCo, HoCo or maybe Severna Park. But go ahead and pat yourself on the back for PuBLiC sChOOLs. Seriously nobody cares and you're not a better person for it, than someone who made a different choice. And you're certainly not a better person than the dads who can't move their kids out of average (or worse) public schools, and don't get to wear the superhero PuBLiC ScHooLs SuPpOrTeR" cape you do, so proudly, in the face of evil and non-meritocratic private school dads. What a weird thing to post, trying to impress strangers you already dislike.

"My kid is a public school kid and non holdback and 5’9” and going to an elite school with an elite lacrosse program at no charge"- lies
"several kids on his club team, which are all on age public school kids got similar deals"- more lies
"nobody is talking endlessly about me behind my back saying what a lowlife cheat I am for having my kid only play younger kids"- truth, cheat is not the word we are using.
Prove me wrong. Tell us who you are, what club and grad year, and where he is going. I'll wait. You’re gonna be waiting a long time. The guys a troll.

We're all a notch below them now. LIE is an All LI plus (Conn, NY, northern NY) team, even more so now that it is HS. DC/Balt best talent is spread out between 5-6 top teams.

LIE is nothing but all Long Island boys and all reside on Long Island. No Jersey players, No upstate players NY & No fly ins. 13 boys attend St. Anthony's, 6 Chaminade and the remainder public high school. 2 of of the public school boys will most likely play varsity while the Saint Anthony & Chaminade boys will probably not.

I mean circuit. 1)Coaches kids All IN. All existing coaches and their kids. 2)MD ALL IN. Real coaches with the real top players.

I think the vice grip is slowly slipping - Crabs players are explicitly prohibited from playing on national teams, but numerous yellow helmets bouncing around in Naples Florida last month at the Circus event. No longer afraid of King Krab's influence on playing time, recruiting "help", etc I guess.

King Crab is fool if he thinks Crabs parents are going to sit tight while watching other elite players from all over play on national teams. Their FOMO takes over.
