In my opinion, somebody should advise the Recon coach at this grade that young kids don’t respond to anything with all the sideline antics. Just coach and make it a little fun.

Did the Rebels fold or do they just play B tournaments now? 136 practices last year mean they’re skipping a year?

If Madlax continues that level of play, no one will be able to touch them. The three new kids from BLC were a big add

If Madlax continues that level of play, no one will be able to touch them. The three new kids from BLC were a big add I mean they played weak competition in a fall tournament. Their main strength last year were their crop of 10yr olds. That said, if they got BLCs top players, they’re going to be hard to beat next season.

They did have a number of Rebels. Most team was Patchogue based town team with another 4 or 5 Rebels kids mixed in. I would guess close to half of the group played on a Rebels team. Not all on their Stealth Squad.

What age do all the kids on LI move to Express and 91? Rebels and Igloo both have very strong young teams (30,31, 32), but don't seem able to keep the kids together.

That’s when they figure out who is going to to be really good. Then they offer those kids free tuition to come play for them. This has been happening for years

That’s the way things have been in the past, but times are definitely changing. Think rebels have positioned themselves with a bunch of good moves to keep their talent that they are developing. Rebels / Igloo are the clear top programs from 30 and down right now

Nothing stays on top forever and people are starting to see that there are more options now. It's not just a 2 horse race (91,Express). Many others will be competitive moving forward. Legacy, Rebels, Igloo etc all are taking a big piece of that pie. Rebels have definitely grown the fastest and we will see if that growth can produce top teams that stay together.

When Catholic school, reclasses, and positioning for recruiting years come about, you’ll see the transition. Top tier kids will gravitate towards an NLF team.

Legacy Taz has plenty of D 1 commits and they are not an NLF team. If your team is very good then you will get invited to the premier tournaments.

This is true but 91 and Express for years have been known to poach top players from other teams and offer either reduced or free tuition. With their track record and the amount of money that you are saving, many families jump at the opportunity. It's not always the best decision but free tuition is hard to pass up. It' not only the money, it's the bragging rights...

All clubs will reduce tuition for the right player, not just 91 & Express.
And the top clubs will also recruit/attract kids from off LI as they go along, always looking for the next best thing. All the clubs are in business. The business of making money. And winning makes for better marketing and more money.
Rosters in 3rd & 4th will be quite different by 8th, 9th etc.

Rebels are becoming a watered down product, they slap shiny red helmets on any PAL team that asks and then throw in a few of there better kids to keep things competitive, which at this age it works. Rebels won’t be a top team once 5th / 6th comes around. Facts

Not sure what all the detest is about. You can tell a lot about a program when you see how a team/ coaching and training drops off from the AA team to the A or B team and I can say based of experience as a parent there is a HUGE disparity from Igloo to Rebels. Rebels has the kids practicing with older age groups for example their 2031 Riot team practices with their 2030 Blaze team. I can say that from experience the A or B team at Igloo was not doing that. Positional training as well as play calling wasn't even a thought with their Arctic wolves team. I do see that Igloo changed their B team coach from last year and brought in new kids which was a good thing because $4k for 1.5 coaches wasn't worth it for sure.
Glad to see a healthy rivalry out there but many of the kids know each other so it's just fun at this age. Hopefully that continues and Long Island continues to breed the best.

As a parent of the Rebels can say the coaching is great, and the amount of opportunity to play is extremely high. 4 coaches on my sons team + trainers that are at certain sessions.
