Someone said it earlier, but I think you need to look at every situation differently.

Our daughter was new to Liberty Black 2027 this past season and could not have had a better experience with our parent coach. You can see what energy and dedication can bring to a team and the girls respond well to him. No favoritism and he went above and beyond which benefited all of the girls and the team.

Cut down roster? Be serious. That means less $$ for YJ/Steps.

I think the solution is capping # of girls per club.

And yes, this is a showcase. Like any lax tourney after spring of freshman year. Coaches who aren't showcasing players aren't doing anyone any favors.

AA, A, B, Black, Blue, etc., who cares, let’s see where these teams end up ranked and how the club experience is. I doubt the YJ second team thinks of themselves as a “B” team, they are really talented and can beat anyone on any given day. Some clubs could pull off 2 talented teams, by the looks of tryouts with tons of kids, the talent was there to have 2 talented teams. This is a strong age group, which is great for all the girls, lots of options for them to play and get better across Long Island.

They had enough girls at tryouts to make an entirely new team? Can’t imagine pink and whit will get any attention. Will be interesting to see how this works out. 4 teams is nuts and a complete money grab

I was at the jesters tryouts. I was shocked at how many girls were there, had to be 100. And also was very impressed at the talent. Do I think 4 teams can work? Honestly who knows, I personally doubt it but either way they had a ton of talent there.

Also why would they not keep the pink team as the b team? They had a full season this past year, unless they weren’t happy with the results and want to start over…

I was told that they are making a strong push for 2 A teams and they are taking a mix of black, pink and new players. Will blue be as good as black, obviously not. But based off tryouts alone, I would expect the Blue team to be pretty good. My info is coming from a parent of a black player who said this was a long
Time coming. They will only play in A tourneys. Obviously time will tell.

May play in "A" tournaments. But will play in lowest brackets. How fun. Lol

This shows a basic lack of understanding of how tourneys work. Any tourney worth playing in is already full for fall and Summer. Jesters has one team in lax for the cure, one team in live love lax, one team in Chesapeake invite, one team in Mid Atlantic Summer (though they have a blue team in MD cup).

Whatever the second team is, will be playing a B or C schedule. Hopefully, they are honest with parents about this.

Lots of girls at those tryouts are on other teams and wouldn't accept a B team spot. Doubt they will have numbers to fill more than 2 teams.

Why does everyone care what other people do. If daughter is happy isn't that what matters, not the parents ability to say where and what team my daughter plays on.

Jesters, a lacrosse for profit business having 4 teams based on a great tryout turn out really triggered some people…. The more we’ll trained teams LI has the better.

Not true...Jesters blue team is going to at least 3-4 legit tourneys that their black team plays in. Sure they will play in lower brackets. No different than other club's second teams.

There will not be a mix of anything. The Blue team is the B team and to top it off brought in a PAL dad coach to accommodate his daughter on that team. Bye

New girls and the pink team from this past summer.
How many new girls made the black team?

Someone clearly isn’t happy getting cut from their Black team, look at the upside, less trips for you down the Jersey turnpike next summer.

Every year same thing all ages, unfortunately kids get cut from their team, the fool parents living through the kid takes an ego hit and [Censored] the program and spreads bad information. Luckily there are lots of lacrosse options for the girls that just want to play lacrosse.

Great time of year, the jilted parents take to the keyboards to release their frustrations. Enjoyable to read how fool some parents are, the clubs likely know who they are too….

which ones? They aren't in summer Lax For the Cure, Live Love Lax summer, Chesepeake, or Mid Atlantic.

The only "major" tourneys they are in is Live Love Lax fall, Lax For the Sea (hardly a major tourney) and Maryland Cup.

Glad to see someone gets it, it does not matter where they play as long as they are HAPPY first and foremost. If they are good they will play allot, if they are team oriented they may or may not play allot but they are happy. High School and showcase are important and yes club play and A Tourny's will come into play. However if the girl wants to continue playing Lax so be it let it be, one day the over consumed parent may get disappointed and must face reality that the girl is only playing because of friends, likes playing but not driven and may just walk away all together. Just let the young girls be happy and play the game, if they want to stay with a club let them stay, If they complain about playing time or coaching ask the Girl what she would like to do and let them decide. Be a parent and a friend first and listen before making a move every year and worry about who's the best club with the best name and where will they get more playing time.

Agree with all that. However, if you believe everything on this thread. If sounds like jesters are making some empty promises about the schedule for the blue team.

If a girl is happy there, then great. But if she expects to be playing in all the top summer tourneys, then she (and her paying parents) are in for a rude awakening.

Well said... this forum is therapy for the parents, hope this makes them feel better. The sad part is that the parent's ego hurts more than their respective daughter's. Move on with your negativity.

When will they announce who the coach is? What does Jesters have to gain from bringing in a PAL coach? Did the guy bring girls with him? Seems odd.

Moving the conversation in a different direction, we are looking at getting a new sports camera for the team. We have used Veo in the past. Its not bad, but the upload time and editing is not the greatest. Does anyone have experience with Trace? Their wearable chip for player motion/ identification seems really cool.

Really strange behavior for an adult to list out all girl tourneys and then dictate who “A” teams are by which tourney they attend. The parent must really want all the tourney lanyards. Tryout season taking its toll

Trace is easier to use and edit and has a ton of bells and whistles like the wearable chip. That said, if there is a team warming up behind one of the goals, it will upset the AI motion sensing technology and you could lose some game footage.
