The team from NorCal just beat Machine 5-3 in bracket play. Looks like Machine is one of six or seven 2027 teams that can win on any given day.

And the team from Texas beat them 6-5 in the consolation game. Parity is good. Should be an interesting NLF Finals in July with Kings and Hawks added to the mix.

I’m sure Texas is very athletic being the players are most likely grown men. Machine will never have a repeat game like they did against the Kings last summer. Machine now has one of the best pound for pound FOGOs/Middies in the circuit and will possess the ball 90 % of the game. You were saying ? ……..lol. Sounds like someone may want to correct their statement . Not only did machine get beat on face offs but they were outplayed in every facet of the game against California team. Back to the drawing board . And boy is it hard to try to watch a game with those loud mouth machine parents on the defensive side of the field , I feel embarrassed for them

Nlf is a joke all 9th graders that come down and pound on younger kids and are happy with that. Texas team was a talented team they played well the Cali team was another bunch of holdbacks but played amazing lacrosse .. the mass team was full of tattooed 10th graders. Rage looked lost and confused lol..express played decent ball but apparently were missing all of their studs .machine as always got lined up with pretty easy teams untill Cali put them back in their place.

The teams out west are improving. A few (NorCal, Texas Nationals and Kings) have already caught up and are competing for championships in each tournament they enter. It’s good to see that good lax is not limited to one region.

holdbacks aren’t a thing out west. Not like the private school loophole used in the east. A big kid doesn’t mean he is a holdback. Give the kids some credit rather than making excuses.

They are older, and that’s a distinct and real advantage. No question and it’s pathetic. Those kid could play but it’s fun be bigger faster stronger. Only reason at this point that the World Series is special.

Agree 100 percent. It’s the private schools that killed the sport of lacrosse. Again, it’s about money. Why are there 25 year olds playing in college?! They need to change the system - we don’t have these issues in football, soccer and wrestling.

That California team was smooth. Played excellent lacrosse they had a few tall kids again just tall kids.. the mass team that was full of high school kids clear as day. Machine has to oil back up because these west coast teams are coming to win. And What happens to rage and express both looked horrible.

Watch the game (T91 vs ADVNC), it's on youtube, and you'll see that ADVNC level of play is not great - they are just simply bigger faster stronger. ZERO question on this. That said, the mighty Machine is not the invincible force they thought they were. They will run into this all summer bc kids naturally mature at different points and teams/ their parents are gross letting Petey punch down.
That said, there are a lot of dangerous teams – kudos to those who’re playing with kids who’re on age!

No reason to holdback in wrestling because wrestlers are matched by weight, or in football b/c of weight limits for skill position players pre-high school in many parts of the country. As for soccer, they go by birth year as far as I know, not graduation year. Lacrosse encourages it because of these national tournaments based on grad year only and b/c there are no size restrictions for any position. Also keep in mind that, at this point in development, a kid with an August or September 2008 birthday may be more developed than his peers, not because he is a "holdback" in the sense of a kid who is a full year older than his competition (i.e. a 2007 birthday). The Cali team has some big kids and the Laxachusetts team has some young men. Willing to give NorCal the benefit of the doubt that the reason they don't have a WSYL team is because the the 100 mile radius rule (which benefits the population dense east coast and I'm guessing is just big enough to cover the area the Machine draws from;). A 100 mile radius in many parts of the country covers a much smaller population than in LI/NYC. Wonder if the coaches for Machine have calmed down yet. Poor kids.

Just so you know both the machine games could have gone either way. Lost 6-5 to the TX team who scored both a goal at end of half with no time left and one at end of the game with no time left. Have never seen this happen before. The TX team lost the day before to them 7-2. The CA game with Adv also could have gone either way. 5-3 is close and it was back and forth. Both these out of state teams were crazy athletic especially on defense and in transition. Overall 3 very good teams.

You clearly have no idea what you’re talking about in regards to wrestling. Holding back in wrestling is way more rampant than lacrosse, makes lax parents look like amateurs. I’d break it all down for you but the fact that you posted this tells me how little you know about elite level wrestling.

To the guy who said there were 25/26 players on the 27 teams ,must be a 91 machine dad looking for excuses. Just so you're aware , you're directors made it a point of letting all coaches know that they had to be " on grade " for the NLF. So everyone was a 27. Machines days of blowing out bad teams are over ....now the true colors come out . Just not a great team . Live with it .

Both Advc and Lax Black have a much of kids that are effectively 26s by age, regardless of what grade they're in. At this (6th/7th/8th) age group, that’s HUGE and so their success is compromised.
With respect to the “LI Express 26” player comment. LIE have a 26, who's age eligible for 27 and he appropriately played on their WS U13 team. ALL ABOVE BOARD. Grouping by grade, which is easily manipulated, is just notIntelligent and inferring LIE did something wrong (their at least) isn’t right.
Good on that kid for being a beast.

Kings are a good team, but you played them in a playoff bracket. The criticism of rigging the first round is valid. Bethesda LC, MadLax, and Express North are pretty bad in this age group. Those teams combined to score a whopping six goals total in four games against Machine. None of them are competitive on a national level.
