All rankings systems have flaws but this one takes human bias out of the equation by using quantitative metrics only. I will say that they don’t mean anything until July once all the best teams have had a meaningful amount of summer games.

What happened to it? True National, LI Express, West Coast Starz buy it or something? Having a 6-4 team at #5 shows the bias.

People say the rankings are not biased, I think they are biased towards teams with weak schedules. Winning a game by ten goals has a greater impact on the rankings than strength of schedule impacts. Ratings methodology should reduce to a max of 6-7 goal difference. Also there should be bonus multiplier for winning a game.

Hawks Dads,
Remember the olden days when your sons' team was dominant and everybody complained about THEIR holdbacks, and you said "only four," and told on age kids to "hit the wall" while you were laughing at them from the sidelines. I bet you miss those days..... But to be a parent who remembers it being “only 4” tells me your kid did get cut because you remember that number.

Back in the day when Hawks were good enough that people cared about their number of holdbacks, the talking points repeated again and again on this board were "but we only have four" and "sorry your son aint good and cannot compete."

My youngest son's team played against / beat up Stealth in CT two weeks ago. I'm not one to give Crabs a compliment but rest assured, none of the kids on Stealth would make Crabs, at least at that age group. Definitely did not see any Crabs gear or the beautiful yellow helmets.

So the Stealth kids that were playing in big hoco games for the crabs in the spring are now playing 91 storm? If true, that's w.[ChillLaxin] your kids out

The Crabs are a joke. They look like a high school team out there. I can’t believe they came up empty this weekend. I guess it takes more than physical dominance to win lacrosse games.
NAL was the clearest proof that the parity you see in the college game (minus the Terps) is what we have in 2026. Anyone can beat anyone. Sometimes a team has a bad game. Sometimes the ball doesn’t bounce your way or hits a few pipes. Sometimes the refs are atrocious. You can’t tell me the Tigers stink because they didn’t make it to Day 2. They can beat anyone and have beaten Express handily.
Congrats to LI Express on running the gauntlet. They’re a great team. If they go undefeated this summer I’ll come back here and eat my words, but there are a lot of great teams at this age group. We should enjoy it and stop feeding into the fake hype machine of rankings.
