This talk about Mercy is the most immature chatter I’ve seen on here. If they lose they lose. Stop with the comments about average players and TLC and padding stats in an average league. It’s obnoxious All the insecurity over Mercy coming to the A league is insight to how people feel their team might be beat by a team coming from B. They are afraid. Look at their schedules and see how many out of conference cupcakes they picked up. Now with Mercy they might have to drop a top team from another area. The top teams are always ready to play the best. Are you saying that Mercy is a top team? The top A teams schedule some of the top teams in the country. Are you delirious ? Afraid of what? Mercy got beat by our bottom teams! That was with one of your better teams on the field this year…still have trouble catching and throwing. When they tried playing a top Georgetown Visitation, they were destroyed. By the way McD beat Georgetown Visitation by 10, and they played their bench for quite a few minutes. Next year will not be pretty so get ready. Nothing we can do now but sit back and enjoy watching the Mercy parents complain about their coach being out coached, and opponents running up the score.

Next year is going to be tough, very tough, but good luck to the girls Also for the mcd parent, didn’t you all loose 4 games in a row to spsg with an average of getting beat by 8 goals. Maybe it’s time you all move to b. Maybe you can get back to winning again

[quote=Anonymous]It seems a cage has been rattled and the IAAM Moms don't want to share a table at the Valley Inn? I agree let Mercy fall on their own sword if need be, how will their program ever get a chance to grow if never given an opportunity. When did IAAM A conference become such a "Girls Club" ? That is the issue. It won’t grow. It will have the reverse affect. When we play the bottom tier games, the stands are almost empty. Neither side wants to see a bad game. Hopefully, this is a joke and a Mercy stays in B. Here is my thought. Mercy is one of the few catholic schools around that in comparison to other schools in northern Baltimore is somewhat affordable (17k). They are the girls version of Calvert Hall. They are also starting (at least based on basketball and soccer) to emphasize sports and if they start providing aid to lax players they could have something special. Even with aid not everyone can afford McD, STP, RPC or BM but a 5-10k package can make Mercy very attractive to a family. Especially in northern BC and Baltimore. 5k-10k at the schools mentioned still leaves the parents forking over 20K+-30k+ in tuition vs 7k-12k at Mercy. The sport of lacrosse is growing and not every player comes from a blue blood family. If Mercy builds their program the right way they could be a contender. Probably not next year, but maybe 3-4 years down the line. Make no mistake they will take their lumps next year. They will be the next MdS. They will only win up to 4 games a year. You would think that MdS being in Catonsville would have been able to be more competitive, but they have been at the bottom of the A for a long time. Not sure how religious mercy is but the reason mds doesn’t pull in the Catonsville crew is due to the fact that they are VERY religious. Tough to market to all families when it is that extreme Not to mention they are competing with Howard. County schools and anyone coming from aa co would choose spalding. Mercy is located perfectly to scoop up from Owings mills, Towson, Timonium, Perry hall and Hartford co. Not to mention the whole east side of the beltway. A lot of “ifs” but if they put the right people in place they could build a program across all sports. Look at archbishop spalding and the growth they have experienced. Mercy could do the same. Please tell the Mercy moms know that Kia’s , stretch pants , and large amounts of make up not encouraged at the valley and their husbands / boyfriends will be mad they can’t order bud in a can there.

Well, they will not enjoy it next year. Looking forward to seeing their heads bowed before and after the games.

Mercy parent, stop bragging about jumping to the A conference. You won’t brag this same time next year. You will be trying to get back to B. We can shut this conversation down until the spring of 2023. Let’s talk then and see how happy you are. See you in the spring of 2023. I am out!

I'm just wondering how ya'll know so much about Mercy lacrosse if they are not a concern for you A conference teams, if they are so bad, why would you bother to watch the championship game, and why all the argument for that matter. So defensive if they are not a worry. These kids do not get recruited from the high school, they get recruited from their club teams. And some kids just want to play for their high school. IAAM has the final decision, not the parents, not the players, and not the schools. Sorry that Mercy is gonna put a damper on your bougie A conference. I find it sad that the parents find the need to get drink alcohol at their children's high school lacrosse games myself.

Since you can’t follow the thread. I watched the game on YouTube after your announcement. You are in for a sad year in 2023. The days of winning and celebration are over. Get used to it mom.

I watched it on YouTube after the announcement. I wanted to see their play. Mercy plays in slow motion and has a hard time catching, throwing, feeding is rare, defensively they are pretty get lost on cuts, and it seems like they don’t have any offensive plays other than isolations. Their heads will be spinning around defensively next year. Wait until they see the speed and tempo of the top A teams. Wow! Mercy is in for a big disappointment for the next few years. I say few years because they will go back to B. Mercy will realize that they are way out of their league after they play the top seven A teams. Enough said so let’s wait unti the spring of 2023.

so you are concerned with Mercy’s play because ? Your concerned about their feelings ? or to see if they are a threat? Regardless Mercy deserves. chance win or lose. I say good luck to them I hope they enjoy the ride whether they win or just get better playing against A, better then the B competition has to offer. None the less no one on this feed has any say the IAAM makes that decision. Not the A conference parents.

The top seven A teams get nothing out of pummeling Mercy. You are only thinking about how Mercy gets better. The top seven A teams gain zero. I forgot, our end of the bench will play the majority of the game and may get a little better. Perhaps we will bring up the JV to play Mercy. Definitely scheduling them for senior day.

Another bad team added to the A conference. Now we have five really bad teams. Mercy is just a step ahead of Gerstell. That’s what we are saying. Want to hear more? Keep asking questions because we have the answers.

If you include the talent already there, I agree. SPSG has strong defenders moving up/in. Maryvale, Severn and Good Counsel (WCAC) each have a few solid girls.

Minus goalie (which McD has none at the moment) few if any freshman will play. Thier best recruit/newcomer is not a freshman and will make an immediate impact. Though SP and GC still have a lot of talent returning and are the teams to beat.

Not how many will make varsity or how much they will play.

McD freshman goalie will play but not as strong as they'd like for you to believe. Same with SPSG. They have a strong transfer in 2024 year but the freshman class has nothing noteworthy. Maryvale has a good freshman class and lots of returners. Let's not forget spalding of course.

Again, why go to SPSG when they only lose 2 starters from their Championship team ? Crazy as it sounds, because HS is four years and its more than just immediate playing time as a freshman.

Again, why go to SPSG when they only lose 2 starters from their Championship team ? Great school, and you get to play for the best coach in the IAAM. I am an SPSG parent, and I approved this message.
